Centrally located, explore Middle-Earths Red River Gorge through the lens of Frodo and Bilbo Baggins in a real earth-shelter dwelling with modern amenities for an unforgettably unique experience! -with a raised ceiling of course!- Perfect for guests who prefer easy navigation and avoid narrow windy back-roads . Directions to the Red Hobbit hole are as easy as it gets.

Inside the Red Hobbit, the extent of the craftsmanship and detail come into focus. Entering the iconic hand built round door to the open kitchenette and spacious dining area with bar stool seating at the kitchen island and bar top table. The kitchenette features a Refrigerator, toaster-oven, 2-burner electric cook top, microwave, coffee maker and all of the cookware and dinnerware you need. The adjacent living room has a decorative real stone fireplace with electric Log insert to enjoy while sitting on the couch streaming your favorite program or game on the 55'' flat screen smart TV connected to high speed, fiber optic Wi-Fi.

Two private bedrooms: One has a queen memory foam mattress, the 2nd private bedroom has a hand built twin over full bunk bed. Both are memory foam beds. They share the beautiful full bathroom with amazing custom walk-in tile shower with a large rain shower head and hand wand.
Outside is a park style charcoal grill, built in campfire pit with seating for toasting s'mores and an outdoor dining picnic table to enjoy the nice sunset view. Red Hobbit has a great view of the night sky.

Centrally located to all of Red River Gorge's activities including Redpoint BBQ, Rockhouse, climbing areas Muir Valley, Cliffview Preserve, Beer Trailer Crag, Roadside, coffee shop boulder area, and Ash Branch. The sign-up office for The Red River Gorge Zip-Line, Off Road Jeep & side-by-side tours, and Cliffview Cafe are all a short walk from Red Hobbit. Hollerwood Off-road Park is a short drive away.

Access is very easy for 2-wd vehicles on paved roads to a pull-off style gravel parking area with room for 3 vehicles. *** being next to a main road, parking space is very limited so please call ahead to make arrangements if additional room for trailer(s) is desired. ***

We loved our night at the Red Hobbit! My 10 year old son was in total heaven. Everything was clean, beds were comfy, and the shower surrounded by electric candles was pretty magical. We ate breakfast on the picnic table drinking out of the mushroom mugs, while my kids ran around the “shire.” We had a blast, and my son is already asking when we can go back :) Thanks!

Check-in involves picking up a key a few miles away but it was no problem once I understood the process. The house was everything we hoped from the round door to an epic bathroom. Very comfortable and clean. It was great fun and I recommend for any Lord of the Rings fan!

Such a fun property! They did a great job creating a cozy, hobbit home. It was a fun surprise for my LOTR-loving family. Our one worry was if my non-hobbit sized, 6’2” brother would fit inside but no issues at all, plenty of head room :) We picked up Miguel’s Pizza and spent the evening under the stars, around the fire pit. Slept like hibernating bears in the comfy, dark bedrooms and cooked a yummy breakfast before heading out. Thanks for such a unique stay!

Adorable Hobbit house built right in a green hillside! Details didn’t go unnoticed! We loved it! Check in/out was at an office about 15 min away. That was inconvenient when it was time to go home as we had to backtrack. There were also no paper towels, coffee or bathroom toiletries provided at all.

Batteries in electric candles on shower wall were dead. Shower drain was seemed clogged and didn’t drain fast. Living room needs a coffee table for more convenience.
