I stayed for two nights in a “1 bedroom LUXURY suite”. When I arrived, I found my “luxury” suite’s balcony opened onto the multi story carpark next door - this was my view. Not only was it ugly, it felt (as a solo woman traveller) very unsafe.
The toilet didn’t flush properly and the showerhead didn’t flow fully. The towels were thin and scratchy.
The mattress was very comfortable, however the bedlinen was too light for a Canberra winter and there were no additional blankets in the cupboard.
The TV only offered Free To Air channels, despite claiming to have Netflix and Prime.
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, and the appliances were all very convenient.
However, the suite was significantly inferior to advertised images, to the point that I doubt the same level of accommodation is used in advertising. I have no idea what element of the suite Meriton consider to be “luxury”. Would I stay at Meriton Canberra again? Absolutely not. Would I stay at a Meriton property again? Unlikely.
