The Space: About this space Spacious ground floor two-bedroom and two-bathroom apartment located within easy walking distance from anywhere in Kingston. The apartment overlooks a park and is close to all amenities including the Canberra Railway Station, and ideal for both quick getaways and longer stays, including for work. The apartment is in a large, quiet complex of buildings surrounding a beautiful internal park-like common area. A lift provides access to underground parking.
The Space The apartment has all-timber floors (except bathrooms) and is recently fitted out (late 2024 onwards) with almost all-new furniture and appliances to maximise your comfort and convenience. A large private courtyard facing a park adds to the enjoyment of your stay. A powerful split system air conditioner in the lounge cools the whole apartment when required.
Lounge area Part of a huge open plan area incorporating the dining area and kitchen, the sofa and armchairs comfortably seat four people facing a 65-inch TV. A desk provides space to work at or to plan your exploration of Canberra. A sliding door opens onto the courtyard.
Kitchen The kitchen is fully equipped with full size refrigerator, oven, electric hotplates, dishwasher and microwave. A large island bench ensures plenty of workspace and cupboard storage.
Dining area Adjoining the kitchen is a wooden dining table that normally accommodates four people but can be set for six or provide extra working space.
Bedrooms Both bedrooms contain queen beds, bedside tables and block-out curtains and ceiling fans. The larger master bedroom has a 55-inch TV, large walk-through robe and ensuite. The second bedroom has ample wardrobe and cupboard space and is just across the hallway from the main bathroom.
Bathrooms and laundry The ensuite has a full shower, and the main bathroom a combined bath/shower. Both have ceiling heat lamps. A laundry alcove in the main bathroom has a front-loading washing machine and tumble dryer. A large portable laundry rack is also provided for outdoor drying.
Courtyard The private park-facing courtyard is mostly under-cover with morning sun and afternoon shade and has outdoor furniture suitable for fresh air dining and simply enjoying outdoor living. The walls are low enough to offer parkland views, but high enough for privacy.
Car and bicycle parking The apartment has two undercover parking spaces in tandem layout in the secure undercover parking area. Maximum vehicle height is 2.0m and EV charging is NOT yet available. On-street overnight parking is available outside the complex (time restrictions apply in the daytime Mon-Sat and Fri evenings)
For bicycles, the private courtyard contains a secured under-cover bike rack with locks and cables that can accommodate four cycles (at user’s own risk). Alternatively, the apartment is sufficiently large to keep them inside with care.
Guest access On the day of your arrival at 3.00pm, lock-box details will be provided to allow initial access. Two fobs (which also open the parking area doors) and keys will be provided.
Other Things to Note: Other things to note This property is in a residential complex and unsuited for ANY loud or disruptive activities. Maximum occupancy is four overnight stayers including children. Where you’ll be Neighbourhood highlights and amenities Kingston is one of Canberra’s oldest and most interesting neighbourhoods with everything within easy walking distance and is also well located to Canberra’s wider attractions. You will be staying in the redeveloped Kingston Foreshore, just a few minutes’ walk from the Kingston Harbour café/restaurant waterfront and from Lake Burley Griffin, with its shoreline views, boat hire, and walking and cycling paths. The ‘around Lake Burley Griffin cycle route’ (which can be shortened by two bridges) is among Australia’s best recreational rides. Also, an easy few minutes’ walk away is the arts precinct containing Canberra’s original historic power station, now an artistic glassworks hub, and the Sunday Old Bus Depot Markets. Alternatively, stroll five minutes to the pub, café and restaurants of Green Square, heart of the original Kingston Shops area which includes a post office, pharmacy and well stocked supermarket. Further in this direction (20-minute walk) is Telopea Park and the Manuka Oval, shops and historic art-deco swimming pool. Within a few kilometres along the lake shore path or by bus is the Parliamentary Triangle, containing the Central Basin of Lake Burley Griffin, the National Gallery and many national institutions. Other attractions and amenities in the area include several parks, Jerrabomberra Wetlands Nature Reserve, the Canberra Railway Museum (Sun) and the Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets (Thurs- Sun).
Getting around Bring your walking shoes and bikes; many local attractions and amenities are within easy walking or cycling distance. Both the Parliamentary Triangle and Canberra City Centre can be reached almost entirely on off-road paths that form part of Canberra’s main cycling network. Regular buses on nearby Wentworth Avenue provide access to the Parliamentary Triangle and Canberra City Centre with connections to other parts of Canberra.
