I stayed here last year and wanted to return due to the excellent experience I had at that time. This time was much different. I stayed for 4 nights, 2 of them had fire alarm evacuations in the middle of the night in which there are no onsite staff so an off site security company was called, by patrons as directed by afterhours instructions, to attend with the fire department. Each episode left patrons out in the snow for 30-55 minutes. Secondly, the suite: the 2 living room chairs were quite damaged, the fireplace would not produce heat (was electric and showed the flames only), and the dryer did not work (found this the last night of the stay). While updating is greatly needed to this suite in particular, the issue I have most is that hotel management did not attempt to compensate its patrons at any time for the 2 nights in which we were woken and sent out into the snow. I am grateful the alarms worked and the fire department was prompt, but 2 nights out of 4 did not lend to a peaceful vacation.

We loved the covered parking. Very convenient, especially since it snowed overnight. The only downside is that we had to evacuate in the middle of the night due to the fire alarm going off. The Canmore FD were efficient and cleared the building in a reasonable amount of time. We had a room that was part of a suite and the guests on the other side were quite loud and chatty once we were allowed back into the room. This affected our sleep, however it was a unique situation. Overall would go back and would recommend for future stays.

Excellent stay

Emma was extremely helpful,pleasant and efficient as always when we checked in It is so lovely to have your preferences remembered and efforts made to accommodate by Emma. The lobby is very welcoming and the tulips were such a bright note on a cloudy day The new rug that is being installed is a very warming and welcoming colour. Two bedroom suite is very spacious, exceptionally clean and well appointed. The patio is very private and equipped with very comfortable chairs and table. Great for viewing HaLing And the Three sisters Beds and pillows are very comfortable and the hotel provides housecoats, which are amazing. Suite is very quiet and the views of the mountains are wonderful. Even at night you get a wonderful view of the moon. The restaurant has superb food and server, Fang was very knowledgeable and friendly and offered great advice on choices from the menu.

The property was replacing carpets in hallways so it was dusty and smelled of glue. Crew started at 8am. Had to move to a floor that wasn’t yet going through the carpet replacement. The bed was lumpy and the pillows are hard and lumpy with no spares to choose from so if you want a softer pillow it’s not an option, bring your own.
