We have stayed here before in the off season but this was a first summer trip and our first experience in the outdoor pool. While the pool was clean and refreshing there was one main issue that the pool attendant completely ignored since she barely bothered to take her head out of her phone all day. There was a large "South Philly" family that were throwing a football all day long the length of the pool. They were basically taking up the entire middle of the pool and making it difficult to swim without worrying if a football was going to peg you in the head. They nearly hit several small children with the ball as well. I've never been in a crowded public pool where ball playing like this was allowed to continue. As a kid I thought it was as dumb rule but as a parent now with kids I understand why it exists. It would have been nice if management stepped in and asked them to stop. When my wife asked if they could move away from the lower end they give her typical South Philly attitude. We didn't eat at the hotel this trip but I have eaten at Hemingway's before and the food is quite good (but expensive).

Great Hotel!

I had stayed here last summer a couple of times and had a wonderful experience. Naturally I booked again this year when I was coming back to Cape May. There had been some sort of issue with my room but it was resolved and I had actually received an upgrade that exceeded my expectations. I wish I could have stayed longer. This is a clean family friendly hotel.The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The one thing I did notice was the 2nd bathroom did have some sort of water damage that could have been repaired a little better.That is the only negative thing but at least whatever the issue had been it was addressed. I felt it should have been repaired so nobody would know there had been an issue. Anytime I come to Cape May I will definitely be booking here!

Have stayed here many times. Great kids activities and love that they have indoor and outdoor pools .There were some renovations/ upgrades to the building/ hot tub. Quiet at night as it is towards the northern end of the beach front hotels but still only a 10 minute walk to the arcade/ boardwalk.

Overall decent experience. Solid 3 star hotel with a very nice staff. Bed was comfortable and AC kept the room very cool. Place just needs a MAJOR Upgrade. Bathroom tubs are peeling, towel racks are rusty, furniture in room is peeling and draws barely stay in. We are coming back to Cape May July 4th, 2026, but we are upgrading to a nicer hotel at the same price.

grand hotel was an average place .. Devin at the bar was really nice - attendants at the main bar in the restaurant were short staffed - I went there 3 times and walked out as they were too busy to even ask for the order (I ended up ordering from the pool bar) Front desk experience was average and cold
