Beautiful, but....
The owners, Phil and Abigail Oxley and their representative Richelda are inexperienced. Maybe we were the first guests in this new villa, although the carpet is already dirty on one side. There was no useful directory in the villa when we arrived. A lady from the House Owners Asoociation gave us useful information. The estate is very large: 1000 hectares. It is a maze! Even with a map (which was not in the house) it is difficult to find your way. We were not allowed to use the communal pool because we did'nt have the consent of the owners. The pool at the villa was very dirty, the water was cloudy, the pool robot made a lot of noise, the clothes dryer was leaking and did'nt dry. But the biggest problem was that we could not leave and enter the estate as much as we wanted. Abigail had sent us a very short mail (without greetings) with a PAC code for, as she wrote, 4 days. But we were only allowed to use the code for just one day for one entrance and one exit. For more exits and entrances we needed a special consent from the owners. Security let us pass, but only after a lot of trouble. Actually this is a clear proof that the estate is very safe, but we felt like prisoners! We have written a mail to Abigail with a copy to Richelda. Abigail never reacted. Richelda came over to help us with the dryer (the tank was not emptied and was full of water). After 6 days Richelda gave us a proper directory and brochures and she accompanied us, as we had requested, to the security office to solve our problems with going out and coming back. Pfff, after six days! When we left after 2 weeks the water of the pool was clear, the floor was still dirty, the robot was still making noise, but we hope that the owners and Richelda have learned from our visit. The estate is situated in a scenic environment but there is not much to do for non golfers, especially if you have to stay for at least 2 weeks. We were not allowed to use the gym and the indoor pool. Housekeeping: the tiles of the terrace were dirty when we arrived and were never cleaned. A sheet in the master bedroom was not changed after a week. Check out time is 11 AM. Richelda arrived one hour earlier, together with a housekeeper who wanted to start cleaning the house while we were still there. The purchase of a vacuum cleaner is needed, spare light bulbs and also a safety deposit box because there are many builders. There's also an empty lot next to the Oxley villa.
