Luxurious Hosted Oceanview Coffee Farm Stay

Come relax in this calm, stylish coffee shack, revamped to host our avid South Kona visitors. The Ohana or family home, is located in the heart of the Kona Coffee Belt. It is an authentic coffee shack from the 1930s carefully restored to maintain its character. The French doors open on a dinning room kitchen concept, overlooking mature fruit trees. The two bedrooms and small reading room beyond, wrap around a deck with ocean views. A large "Party" room complete the space with an additional bed.

Our home is located on a small farm a few minutes up the mountainside from ChoiceMart as we enter Captain Cook from Kealakekua. Easy access to restaurants, grocery store, hardware store, post office, Farmer's markets, hospital, beaches, and hiking paths. The property is about 35 minutes away from Walmart and the main stores in town, and, about 45 minutes away from Costco, which will save you a pretty penny if you're here on longer stays. In short, close enough to join in any fun activities and access what you need and also remote enough to really feel like you're disconnected from the hustle and bustle and of everyday life.

The farm itself is a little over 3 acres which includes an acre of coffee trees and about 16 varieties of fruit trees. We are in the process of building a self-guided path through the property, until it is completed, we are happy to help you visit.

We are partially of grid. We are on a water catchment with a state-of-the-art water filtration system. Otherwise, we have gas and electricity.

To drive up can be challenging in a regular two-wheel drive vehicle. If that is your only option, just drive slow. Also note, cars driving up the road usually have priority.

With the last Kona low, we lost a little bit of the concrete due to the heavy rains, which makes it harder to maneuver in some areas. We will update the directions on the portal based on the state of the road. Make sure to follow the directions offered rather than your GPS for the most accurate and safest directions. Some GPS will bring you through blocked roads, so we highly recommend following the directions provided we can keep you safe, your car intact while maintaining peace with our neighbors.
Being on location allows us to respond quickly if you need us. Otherwise, we pride ourselves on giving our guest the same privacy we expect when we travel.

We offer a Farm-To-Table tasting experience under our gazebo. When not in use, our guests are welcome to enjoy the space as an added benefit to staying with us.

This is the real Hawaii. Most of our neighbors are farmers. People may be mowing their lawn on Sunday morning. One of our neighbor likes to listen to music on Sunday afternoon if he's landscaping and the sound comes up so it may be less than perfectly silence ever now and again. On the plus side, it is a friendly and very safe area. If there are any kind of celebrations you will be invited. Our "neighbor" a few farms down has a bunch of dogs that he seems to let out all at the same time twice a day and it sounds like hell is broken loose but it's usually done within 10 minutes. Otherwise, it is overall very peaceful.
