We really enjoyed our stay here. Unfortunately it was interrupted during the night by a triggered fire alarm. I appreciate this can't have been foreseen. The only reason I however mentioned this was the treatment we received after the 2:30am wake up call.
We all evacuated the hotel as expected. The staff during this evacuation were, in my opinion below par. There was no explanation as to why it had happened. There was no apology until we arrived home via email. There was very poor communication during the event. All we got was a "You can come back in now". No one explained anything after. Nothing was mentioned at breakfast or on check out. It just fell short of my expectations.
However the positives were also worth mentioning.
I paid for an additional service on arrive with a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries. These were well presented on arrival. The Prosecco was on ice. On top of this the bed was arranged with flower petals and balloons were blown up, Towels were also folded in the form of a heart. None of this was expected but their attention to detail here was definitely worth the £40 on top.
Room service was great. Trevor who dealt with the majority of issues and additional services was incredible. Nothing was too much for him, and I can't thank him enough.
The bed was very comfy. The pillows pleasent and the experience of the room itself was great. I couldn't fault the actual hotel. The only fall short was the staff handing.
