Charming and elegant without mod cons.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was like stepping back in time and the grounds were beautiful. The house had a certain charm and elegance, however, do not expect mod cons. My only concern was that I was expected to keep the Arga lit. I found it rather nerve wracking/precarious carrying ash and hot, burning coals down the corridor (through 2 doors) to put them in a rubbish bin outside. This might not be something that an older person would feel comfortable doing morning and night throughout their stay.
