Transportation: transportation there went very smoothly, but the boat ride back was very intense and a little scary- not sure it’s often like this, maybe it just happened to be a rough day at sea
Food: it is an island, so getting fresh supplies is tough and it shows with the way most vegetables seemed previously frozen then boiled to a mush, and most sauces in dishes tasted from a can. Overcooking seafood was also an issue. They have a large menu and I believe their food would likely be a lot better and fresher if they made the menu smaller and focused on dishes they can do well with fresh ingredients. Wine selection is terrible (mostly frontera brand which goes in the US for $6 a bottle, offered for 4x this cost on the island). Cocktails were well made, though!
Staff: staff was very friendly. you will have to wait a long time for a drink/request, though. Don’t expect anyone to come around and ask if you need anything either. Also, our dirty towels were taken away with room cleaning one day and not replaced, when we asked for towels we were told they had none for us so we had none after our shower to dry off.
Overall the island is beautiful & relaxing. We loved the free snorkels & kayaks provided. Truly a great place to unwind. This place has so much potential to reach the next level if a little more attention to details, food, & clients were given.
