Some of the staff was very rude (in particular the woman working at the bar, who scoffed when we arrived and asked for water for our kids who were extremely thirsty). Unreasonably rude and cold. Lots of ants in the bathroom as well.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when booking Vale da Lapa Village, but it completely blew me away. The property is stunning, the villa was spacious and comfortable, and the service was warm and welcoming. Andre checked us in and provided all the details we needed to enjoy our stay. We booked the half-board option, not realizing it included both breakfast and dinner—what an amazing surprise! The food was delicious, and while service at the restaurant was on the slower side (possibly cultural differences), the staff was always friendly. We stayed in a 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom villa, and it was perfect for our family of four—plenty of room to spread out. I only wish we had more time to relax and enjoy the property itself. The grounds were beautifully maintained, though I’d love to see some additional pathways through the center of the resort to make getting around easier. The beds were quite firm, which didn’t bother me but might not be for everyone. On our last day, we noticed a few ants around the kitchen sink—possibly due to pouring soda down the drain—but overall, the villa was very clean and well-kept. The metal shutters on all windows and patio doors were unexpected but seemed to help with security, light, and sound. A car or Uber is definitely needed to get around, but the peaceful setting made it all worth it. Out of the three places we stayed during our trip, this was hands-down the favorite for our whole family.

As many have commented the resort has a unique combination of feature’s flexibility and staff. You can eat in or order a Bolt or Uber and go into one of the nearby villages to eat. If you eat in always try the chefs special of the day - in 2 weeks we were never disappointed. The staff at all levels are friendly courteous and speak good English. The villas are as beautiful as portrayed and we had one that looked onto a garden teeming with song birds! We found the location to be perfect - not more than a 10 euro cab fare to the local villages.

Perfect place for a family stay - the pictures don’t do the villas justice, they are amazing! We had an incredible first getaway with our baby, the pool area is great, the restaurant is lovely & the villa was perfect! Will definitely be returning!!

Loved our short trip to this wonderful place. I had a massage, joined an aerial yoga class and the kids had a ball in the swimming pools. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

Lovely resort with amazing staff! All so warm and friendly. The facilities are fantastic also! We stayed in a 3 bed villa which was beautiful and clean, the cleaning in particular was a high standard, cleaners were in everyday and the villa was always spotless. We were well looked after by the staff and due to this reason we will be back! My only feedback is that the food can be a little repetitive if you are staying for a while. We ordered in or went out some nights to Portimao which was lovely! But would be a good shout if the menu had a little more choice/options at lunch and dinner. Apart from that everything else was fab. Had a wonderful time. Thank you all at Vale de Lapa we will see you soon!
