You can bring your walking shoes and go for a good hard walk or just take a stroll and spot the local wallaby , who will hop down the drive each night. If you sit on the deck you can spot several varieties ,plus possums ,which you can hand feed each night and we have even spotted a platypus many times and water rats * Racalli). Also in the brook at night . Black Cockatoos fly in regularly and the bird life is wonderful. All this just 5 to 10 minutes drive to 16 different eateries including the Kermandie Hotel with terrific meals just 5 minutes away. You breakfast provisions will be waiting for you in the very user friendly kitchen with eggs complimentary from the Girls ( our resident Chooks ) who you are most welcome to get acquainted with. Castle Forbes Bay is a very central place to many tourist attractions in the Huon Valley including the Tahune Air walk ,The Huon Jet and Paddle boats. And Geeveston just 6 minutes further down the road offers great Sushi, a top Bakery and many more restaurants also there are galleries, the Wall of Lollies shop,The Platypus Walk ,Information Centre and much more.Franklin just 5 minutes north has the Wooden Boat Centre , Maritime Museum ,The Woof Gallery, 2 Hotels and several good restaurants.The Huon Valley is one of the prettiest areas in Tasmania and boasts several Wineries and Willie Smiths Cider and Franks Cider are just a couple more good reasons to spend time exploring this wonderful part of Tasmania.It is just 15 minutes to Huonville 30 minutes to Kingston and 45 minutes to Hobart.
