Short stay in Catania

It was a short stay, but I would stay longer next time. Hotel is on the excelent area, close to park, close to shoping and restaurant area, staff was so helpfull. It was clean, quiet. We didn't need car to visit the city, just a short walk. Rooms are very, very small. Maybe good for solo traveler, but it was tihgt for 2. Anyway, I recomend this hotel to anyone.

Good location to explore Catania. Damian was wonderful with a good sense of humour. The rooms are quite soundproof compared to many of the places we have stayed. Parking in front of the hotel was a bit of a challenge but possible especially after 9pm.

The host was awesome and very helpful. We had an issue with a parking ticket moments after we arrived (beware if visiting Catania - the parking enforcement is beyond ridiculous) and he was incredibly helpful in helping us figure out how to pay it.

Room was fairly spacious with comfortable chairs, plenty of decent storage furniture, range of lighting and a large comfortable bed. Also has a mosquito blind, double and secondary glazing and an electrically operated blackout shutter. We didn't like that the room is gloomy during daytime as the trees from the park overshadow the rooms, that the AC is incredibly difficult to understand and that the accommodation is really b&b, there being no public areas for relaxation. The breakfast is a bit limited, sweet filled and plain croissants fruit yoghurts and a little ham and cheese. Coffee and tea were not very good. The receptionist/attendant spoke English, smiled and was helpful but came across as a little surly. When ordering a taxi for us to the airport he seemed confident in the price, availability and time off arrival but when it came to it the taxi was 25 minutes late and charged 30eu rather than the 22 we were advised. Traffic was the explanation but it didn't seem any busier than usual and the journey time was as advised, about 20 minutes. The position is good though, next to the pleasant park, close to via Etna and the botanical gardens and in a reasonable neighborhood.

Très bel hôtel particulier, très confortable et bien insonorisé malgré un environnement extérieur très bruyant (rue avec beaucoup de circulation). Bien situé à 10 minutes à pied du centre historique. Hôte très à l'écoute concernant les conditions d'arrivée et très disponible pour trouver une solution.

Perfect for someone out site-seeing all day and just wants a clean, secure and easily accessible place to lay your head at night. I can't tell you how nice it is to just walk to your hotel with your luggage and not have to catch another train, taxi, or other form of transportation - especially if you have been travelling for a while and just want convenience. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice with new renos.
