The place was pretty and clean. My only complaint is that you cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet, you have to put them in a trash can. And the toilet didn’t flush great. This made me not want to do my heavier business…if you catch my drift. If I would have known this I would have booked a different property. If I was staying at somewhere significantly cheaper- I would not complain.

While this has so much going for it -- sheer curtains that everyone can see through and a rooster that starts going at 3:30 in the morning right outside your window ruin it all...

Great Getaway

We were only in town for the weekend and place left us wanting more. Quant little spot that’s got plenty to do nearby (Madrid, Santa Fe). Whichever airport you fly into will force you to drive the Turquoise Trail to get here and will treat you to the beautiful New Mexico landscape. FYI, there is another house nearby on the property which can be confusing if you first get in after dark, but this property is detached.

Lovely Stay

The Casita was the perfect stay for the first night of our road trip. The hot tub was the best way end to a long day on the road. We arrived in the dark but awoke to the beautiful hills the property is located within and the wonderful areas to relax in before heading to our next destination. Definitely want to return and stay for a few days.

Poor cleanliness. Poor water filtration. Lack of dishes and cleaning materials. Lack of basic towels, cloths and sanitation. Bed and linens covered in animal hair and dander. No place to put luggage or unpack clothes. No place to hang clothes. Bathroom and shower unsanitary and subpar. Basically a miserable place to stay. VERY DISAPPOINTED in VRBO. Our previous stays in Arizona were never a problem. Guess this differs from state to state.

Nice property, poor communication

The property was easy to find and was rustic as advertised. However, there was absolutely NO food for breakfast as promised in the description. And the kitchen was very poorly equipped. We also could not connect to the WiFi, there was no cell phone service, and the owners were nowhere to be found, The entire time of our stay and we couldn't call them to ask how to get on the WiFi. So, if there had been any problems, we would have had no way to contact anyone.I would not stay here again because of the poor communication and what was promised in the description was not provided with no explanation.

Tiny, rustic, and unique

We very much enjoyed our one night stay here in the casita. It is super cute and cool and the location is amazing. The bed is very comfortable and the porch out front is great for relaxing. It is a bit more rustic than we expected from the listing but certainly no dealbreakers! Thanks so much for hosting us.

Unique place

I loved the adventure of staying in an old adobe building using the wood burning stove to heat (the heated mattress pad helped too). Coffee is made on the stove, the old fashioned way.Unfortunately the internet was out when we arrived and without cell service we were forced to go to a nearby town (Madrid) to connect with the people we were working with. It did come back on later, but was off and on. This put my husband in a foul mood, but I take responsibility for this as the hosts are very clear about this being a place to cut yourself off from the world, and I didn’t prepare him for this. Just make sure you don’t have any critical communication needs during your stay. The included breakfast fixings were kind of lacking…. Some eggs, a little milk/cream and a few pieces of what looked like old fruit were in the fridge. Overall, I enjoyed the place but think of it like you might a camping trip, where you are there to experience the unique surroundings and slower pace of life.
