When the Pool Meets the Sea – Where Anthony Quinn Danced the Sirtaki

Imagine stepping into your villa and seeing nothing but the infinity pool merging with the blue waters of the Cretan Sea.

Set directly on the seafront in Stavros, this unique villa combines an exceptional waterfront location, a spectacular infinity pool and a fascinating piece of Cretan cinema history. Stavros became world-famous as one of the filming locations of the 1964 Oscar-nominated film Zorba the Greek, starring Anthony Quinn. The villa is connected to this history, while the beach directly in front is associated with the film's iconic final dance scene.

Seafront living at its best

The outdoor spaces are the heart of the villa. The infinity-edge swimming pool overlooks the sea and features a hydromassage corner, surrounded by spacious stone terraces with high-quality sun loungers and umbrellas.

At certain times of the day, particularly around sunset, the edge of the pool seems to disappear into the sea beyond.

And when you feel like swimming in the Mediterranean instead, simply walk through the garden gate and head directly to the crystal-clear waters in front of the property.

Designed for unforgettable outdoor moments

The villa offers several areas for relaxing, dining and spending time together outdoors. Enjoy long breakfasts and leisurely lunches beneath the shaded terrace, surrounded by climbing plants, geraniums and the refreshing sea breeze.

As evening arrives, atmospheric lighting transforms the terraces and garden into a beautiful setting for dinner and drinks.

The outdoor area includes a traditional pizza oven, BBQ, bar and comfortable lounge spaces — perfect for enjoying warm Cretan evenings without ever needing to leave the villa.

The Mediterranean garden and natural stone terraces create a peaceful setting that feels completely connected to the surrounding landscape and sea.

Plenty to enjoy for adults and children

Families have lots of space to relax and play. Younger guests can enjoy the playground and basketball court, while the villa also offers a professional table-tennis table and table football.

For quieter moments, settle into the large comfortable outdoor chair or swing chair, find your favourite corner of the garden and simply enjoy the view.

A villa with a story

More than simply a holiday home, this is a place where the landscape, the sea and a small piece of Cretan history come together.

The property retains the character and atmosphere of a traditional Cretan home while offering the outdoor spaces and facilities for a memorable seaside holiday.

Whether you spend your days swimming between the infinity pool and the sea, sharing meals beneath the shaded terrace or watching the colours change over Stavros Bay in the evening, this is a place designed for slow, unforgettable Mediterranean living.

The villa operates as a licensed tourist accommodation in Greece.

We had the most fantastic 2 weeks at Stavros Villa. It’s the most beautiful place. The house is lovely- well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, excellent shower. We spent most of our time lounging by the fabulous pool and playing table tennis. Exceptional hospitality from Dimitris and Manolis - delicious homecooked treats! It’s so great we’ve booked to come again next year! It’s a very special place!

This property was absolutely incredible, and just as described! Our family of four enjoyed walking out just steps to the beach, swimming in the pool, playing basketball and ping pong, riding bikes, etc. The highlight was the generosity of Dimitris, who recommended excellent beaches, restaurants, and hikes. He even arranged for a wonderful massage at the house, at our request. Additionally, we had fresh fruit, coffee, bread, etc upon our arrival, and even got surprise fresh baked treats during our stay! We loved our stay and hope to come back

Excellent house and area on the Stavros beach

The outdoor area was a real highlight of the property, even better than advertised. The house is really nice with everything you need. The area has a few nice restaurants to choose from, and markets within walking distance. The sea is only 20 meters from the house, so snorkling in the clear water is a must. Overall a fantastic rental.

Idyllic home on the beach

Can’t say enough nice things about this home and the host. Better than the photos! Spacious, well appointed, amazing outdoor space, good kitchen, comfortable for at least 6 people and right on a great beach for swimming, snorkeling or just lying around. Manos the host is amazing...great local tips, brought us moussaka and some amazing sweet creation and was always ready to help with anything. Stravros is 25min to Chania by car but close, to plenty of good restaurants. Definitely will come back!

Family Dream Rental

There was always something to do here, whether swimming in the ocean which was more calm than a lake, or in the pool or playing basketball or in the backyard player with sand. There were also so many toys! Our kids range from 3-11 and it was an amazing stay for all. As a mother to so many hungry people it meant a lot to me that when we arrived on Saturday evening so many grocery staples (and extras) were waiting for us! How relaxing to not have to wake up and worry about how or where to find food! There were quite a few restaurants nearby as well. The back sitting area under the beautiful pink flowers is like a dream to have breakfast under also. We hope to come back again soon!

Our stay was perfect. The spot combines the perfect amount of Greece charm with modern conveniences. The pool area is set up ideal and we found it hard to leave. The property has so many options of things to do and the town of Stavros has more than enough to keep things entertaining. Highly recommend!

Fabulous property and owners / manager

We originally booked during the pandemic and had to change dates. This was done without question. From arriving late at night and having both the owners and manager meet us, everything was perfect. Manolis even came partway through our stay with some sweet and savoury treats! Nothing was too much trouble and I would have no hesitation in recommending this property. It’s about a 25 minute drive to Chania with an abundance of restaurants and the old town and port. A handful of local restaurants within 2 minutes and 2 mini markets just up the road. The outdoor space was superb and the photos don’t do it justice. We loved the basketball and the table tennis and can’t speak highly enough of Dimitrios and Manolis who provided a welcome package and everything we needed for a perfect week in the sun! The beach is literally at the end of the pool, the airport less than 15 minutes away. What more could we have asked for?!

Stavros

This is a lovely villa in a great location on a sandy beach. Perfect place for a beach holiday, but with Chania and its many restaurants and bars nearby. The villa couldn't be faulted, and the pool, basketball court and play areas make it a treasure for all the family. Upon arrival the kitchen was stocked with all essentials which was very kind of the owners, Dimitrios and his wife. The manager of the property, Manolis, is a lovely person and was always available and helpful. He and the owners kindly brought over a moussaka and baclava during our stay - we have stayed in many nice villas, but have never had such wonderful treatment. This is a really special place to stay. Nearby there are a couple of good markets for daily needs and there is a big supermarket 10 mins drive away. The local taverna, Irene, is really excellent. The villa and beach are so nice that it was hard to make the decision to go out for a day trip! But if you do, Elaphonisos is an amazing and unique place about 90 mins drive away. However, it's crowded even in September so I can't imagine how full it must get in the peak season. This is a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday, and we will for sure be back in a couple of years.

Perfekt

Andere Touristen findet man eher weniger.
