It’s an ordinary hotel with ordinary amenities although we did not expect more here. The receptionist made a gross mistake by charging my credit card twice. Thus I got stuck with that amount of money to be returned back to my credit card account by 5-7 business days and my credit limit will restrict me for further use of card until this money returns to my account. The receptionist should be more careful and vigilant about this type of transaction.

Very tired property, needs a refresh. Our room was very basic and not much space. Bathroom was nice and seemed to be upgraded but the room smelled musty. The AC was quite loud but we kept it on since it was stuffy. In the morning, the fire alarm went off at 730 am so everyone had to evacuate. Got back in about 20 minutes later so big deal for us but lots of families were there with little kids in their PJs. We didn't expect a 4 star hotel by any means but for almost $200 for the night, not good value for money.

Front desk staff were fabulous. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. On-site restaurant was great. Only negatives: A/C was noisy and room a little musty smelling.

Great location to NFLD ferry

Great property and such a great location close to the ferry. The staff here were so friendly. Rooms are a bit small but great for a quick nights rest.

Clean, Comfortable and Friendly!

Hotel Port Aux Basque was fantastic! We had just got off a long day on the ferry and everything was super smooth checking in. Sure, the rooms and facility are not as modern as other hotels, but it was quaint, lovely, clean! And great staff. The food in their dining room was fantastic. The lounge wasnt necessarily a "happening" place, but they put on the Jays game for us and we were able to relax and enjoy our evening after dinner. We had a horrrrrrible experience at an accommodation the night before the Ferry from North Sydney, so I was a bit apprehensive with a place that was independently owned again. BUT this was wonderful! We wished we had booked it for our way home, but it is sold out - understandably so! Wonderful place and a wonderful first impression of the rock! - highly recommend!!!
