Perfect

It was an amazing stay. Right across the street from the spectrum center. I felt completely safe in the hotel. After a certain time you need your key to get in and to ride the elevator at all. It's near the train station but it's an electric train and didn't make much noise.

The only issue was that upon checking in at the designated time. We were told the room still was not ready and had to wait in the lobby which was not ideal. Other than that the room was great and clean!

They charged me for two nights when we only stayed one night. We prepaid on Expedia and after we checked out they took another night out of our bank account. They also held two incidental deposits on my account. We spent one night and ended up being charged for a lot more. I have spoken with the front desk staff and they did apologize for their error but said there’s nothing they can do to correct it. Extremely frustrating, so now I have to go through my bank and dispute it. A nice Christmas present to my kids turned into a horrible experience. I’m having to jump through hoops to get it corrected and they could care less. Also- you will hear the train outside, all night long. We thought it would stop after midnight but nope.

I liked that the property was directly across the street from the arena we were going to watch a basketball game in that night. I did not like the guy who checked us in when we first got to the hotel. He was not friendly or helpful when I asked him about places to eat or things to do with my 12 and 13 year old boys.

Not worth the money

It was a great location for the basketball game at the Spectrum center. That is its selling point for sure. It is definitely overpriced for the room and amenities though. I paid over $300 to stay one night because of the $40 fee for parking on top of the room fee. The room itself was more like a 2 star hotel. First of all, when I pulled my comforter back on the bed, there was a big long hair right in the middle of the bed. The sheets were wrinkled like someone had taken a little nap in it and then covered it back up. It was so late that I did not try to get new sheets. I went to bed with sweats and a hoodie on and hoped for the best. I was exhausted. Next, the bathroom towels were tiny, the toilet roll holder was broken and there was wall paper peeling off the wall in the bathroom. Also, the rooms are not soundproof at all.We got to hear all the partying around us like we were part of it. They do give ear plugs which should have been a sign of how noisy it was going to be. The women at the front desk were very kind at checkout. The guy that checked us in seemed a little put out with me though because I asked about the $50 "amenity fee" that they add to the bill. My bad. Another reason I didn't complain about the sheets. I didn't want his ire again. All in all, I'll not pay to stay there again. I go to Charlotte quite a bit and have stayed in several of the hotels around the Spectrum center. This one is NOT worth the money, I promise.
