The valet which probably is probably contracted and therefore cannot be told NOT to mess with climate controls in someone’s car while pulling it around. MIGHT BE TOO MUCH OF AN ASK.

Be careful booking this place! We booked through Expedia and picked a King bedroom, but at check-in, the lady said our booking only gave us the "best price available, which was a double queen room in the old section." She said she had an upgraded room with "luxury sheets and view" for $30/night extra! We were there for a romantic birthday getaway and normally sleep on a king bed. I booked a king bed and ended up paying more for it! What a scam! There is nothing on Expedia booking that says we are paying for the best available price room! If so, why did we even get the option to pick a King bed? The lobby and downstairs are beautiful, but the only parking is $28/day Valet or the other end of the block and across the street in the city parking garage for $20/day! The valet staff was great. The sheets were not anything special and one of the decorative pillows on the bed had stains on it but had a zip-off cover that could easily have been washed, and was definitely something the maid would have seen when putting it on the bed. The room was big with three windows looking out at the surrounding buildings, not really special but better than what some reviewed. The place was busy with a wedding reception going on and lots of wait staff. There is a Starbucks with an inside entrance, an expensive steakhouse, a bar, and a small women's clothing store co-located but most other attractions, ie aquarium area, were a bit of a walk. Not worth the price. Won't stay again or recommend.

My husband and I have stayed here twice and will stay again. The staff is excellent and we really appreciate them. It’s very convenient to shopping and restaurants. The food is excellent at the hotel.

Nice but bathroom needs work

Hotel lobby is beautiful and well decorated. The location was nice as well. I was a little upset to see the condition of the bathtub. The entire room was remodeled except the tub and the doors. For $200 per night I would expect to see better quality. Overall, it was a nice stay. I don’t think I would stay here again but it was nice for a quick trip.

Overall hotel is not very clean, Noisy, room had stains on floor, bed was not comfortable at all. The tv would buffer the whole time when we did watch it. The hotel does a ghost room tour which happened to be on the floor we stayed on which clogs up the elevators and cause a-lot of noise in the hallway. I would pick a different place to stay the next time we come to town.

The hotel is so beautiful. The room we had was set up so nice. If you have time talk to the front desk about booking the tour of the haunted room. It’s such a fun time. Lots of places to eat near the hotel.

Spring break girls trip

Me and my child (10) wanted to do something fun for spring break, and the read house did not disappoint. The location was great and we just felt safe there. Our room (600) was clean and we had a good view of the city life.

This historical spot is perfect for a get away. We loved walking to surrounding spots and events. We also used the free transit for local stops. We loved eating at Alleia and Colliope. Great long weekend stay! Make sure to get John to tell you the story of room 311.
