I had become ill the day before my scheduled stay, and I never thought I would miss my stay at the Gurnee Motel, so I didn't buy the suggested travel insurance. I certainly wish I had. Emergencies do come up, and unscheduled illnesses do happen. If they suggest to buy the additional travel insurance you probably should. I wish I had.

No lights and smoke detector kept chirping. I got my room changed and it was dirty. Saw roaches, spider webs, roaches in spider webs. Smoke detector had a plastic bag on it. Towel was wet before I even used it that's disgusting. Tv was a joke nothing but horrible picture. I would never stay there again after what I stayed through.

The room I was out in looked like an old utility closest. It was small, cramped. The bed frame was oversized and I ended up cutting my shin on it. The furniture was make shift and racks for a storage closest. The tv didn’t work. There were cigarette burns and stain on all of the bedding. The shower had a large amount of hair, spider webs with dead cockroaches. There was a horrible stench, like a busted sewer pipes, right next to my room. The pictures advertised for the hotel did not resemble what I checked into in any way. Had I not been short on funds and it being later in the evening I would’ve left.
