Courtyard Cottage : Sleeps 4 with 2 Bathrooms in Hilltop Village

Courtyard Cottage is a Grade 2 listed Cottage in the beautiful hilltop village of Chulmleigh. The cottage has been completed refurbished to provide ample space for up to four people. The ground floor has an open plan style with kitchen, dining and large sitting area. Upstairs there is a main bedroom with en-suite shower room, second bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom. Outside there is a walled courtyard garden offering a private space to enjoy the sun. There is free parking nearby.

Although Chulmleigh is a small hilltop village it offers a wide range of amenities including a pub, hotel, take away food, Indian restaurant, late opening convenience store, bakers, post office and golf course with a welcoming clubhouse open to everybody. All these facilities are within a short walk of the cottage.

Every thing you could possibly need for a comfortable stay is in the cottage even down to a dishwasher . The village has a couple of pubs which do food at reasonable prices and a minimarket and bakers so is ideal for a quiet and comfortable stay

Lovely cottage in a charming village. Had everything we needed for our stay, and the breakfast was a nice extra. Parking is on street, but there were always spaces available. Well placed to reach desired destinations, and with plenty of walks from the doorstep.

Anniversary treat

This tastefully decorated and furnished cottage was the perfect place to come back to each day after visiting our destination for the day. We covered many miles of country lanes and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The cottage had everything we needed as a home from home.

Wonderful stay!

Wow, what a find! Absolutely beautiful cottage in a lovely, friendly village. We had lovely meals at the Red Lion and the Chulmleigh Tandoori, and were lucky enough to coincide with the fish and chip van (Tuesdays 5-7pm opposite the library!) Great visits to Westward Ho! and Exmoor Zoo. Unfortunately didn't manage any walks due to a sprained ankle! The only thing that was a tiny disappointment was that I hadn't realised the courtyard wasn't directly accessible from inside the cottage, but it didn't matter at all and we would really love to return.

Surprisingly large, comfy home in a hidden gem location

Loved our few days away in Devon. We had planned to visit a few places across the county, so picked this cottage simply as it was in the middle, but we were so pleasantly surprised with how great the house was. Very spacious and comfortable and a lovely social space whilst still being cosy and welcoming. The village has all you need: a shop, a bakery, a couple of good pubs and a couple of takeaways. There’s a little car park just up the hill and around the corner that we used for the car. All-in-all, a great stay and we’d definitely stay again if back in the area!

Lovely Cottage in a Lovely Town

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Courtyard Cottage. Loved the open plan layout downstairs and the ensuite in the master bedroom was a real bonus as the kids subsequently had their own bathroom. We all commented on how comfy the beds were! We had everything we needed for a short break and the welcome package of bread, milk, cereal etc was very welcome as we arrived late on the Friday night. Chulmleigh itself is a lovely little town with plenty of amenities - we thoroughly recommend a meal in the Chulmleigh Tandoori. We only had a couple of days on this occasion but having previously lived in Devon, this location would be ideal for visiting Dartmoor, Exmoor, the North Devon Coast, Exeter etc. Communication from Chris was excellent and we look forward to a return visit soon.

Absolutley beautiful and peaceful stay.

We stayed here over New Year 21/22 and we had such a wonderful and peaceful stay within this quaint and well equipped cottage. This modern cottage was very comfortable. The bread, butter, milk, condiments and breakfast cereal were so welcoming. The cottage is within a minute's walk to the nearest cosy pub. The locals are so friendly and welcoming and really made us feel at home. There were a few walks that we did, (all be it that they were muddy walks but we were equipped for the occasion!) we were after a relaxing break (we work in schools so you can understand why!!) and where we had parked our car upon our arrival is where it stayed until our departure! We enjoyed it so much that we're looking to book again for later in the year, but cheaper directly!! Chumleigh is a very quiet but for us the amenities within the vicinity were enough. Thank you Mr and Mrs Parker, we will certainly be returning.

A really beautiful and extremely clean cottage with everything included (iron, towels, microwave, fridge etc). My wife and I absolutely loved staying here. As an added bonus, there is a really friendly old fashioned pub with a very nice warm fire literally yards from the cottage.

Wonderful Staycation!

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautifully furnished property. It had everything we needed for our stay and more. It was tastefully decorated and furnished. The breakfast extras were also welcomed. It was also a bonus to have both a bath and shower. We were told we could stay in the property until 11 on the day we were leaving, however the cleaner turned up early thinking we were vacating at 10. We had already packed our belongings anyway so loaded up the car and left. If in the area I would definitely be returning to this well maintained and beautiful residence.

Great holiday cottage

The cottage is very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner even provides bread, milk, breakfast cereals and preserves for your arrival. The village is very nice with a range of shops and two good pubs less than five minutes walk away. Convenient for all the north Devon attractions as well as Dartmoor. Recommended.
