Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the village of Facinas. The residents of the village were very friendly, we never had an issue finding a parking spot within a block of the house, and there was a terrific little store (La Mariquita) that was an easy walk and had everything we needed. She even ordered gluten free bread for my wife and had it for me the next day. The one thing that was a little annoying was the layout of the house. And thought the description alludes to it, it's not clear through description or the pictures. The larger room, which has the en suite bathroom and the only shower in the house, is at the top of the stairs, with no door. Essentially, the room, with it's open bathroom and shower, are the top landing of the stairs. This was a little disappointing, because my wife and I would have loved to have had the larger room with the bathroom, but that would have essentially meant that our teenage son could never take advantage of the upstairs or the rooftop terrace. So instead, he basically had the upstairs to himself, and we remained downstairs unless we needed to use the only shower in the house. It was just kind of awkward. Hopefully this will give future visitors a better idea of what they're getting into. The house was also quite stuffy and musty, and we had to open all the windows whenever we came home to get some fresh air flowing. We saw a few cockroaches as well, so keep that in mind if you are squeamish about such things.
