The climatic health resort of Altenau is not only one of the starting points for hikes on the Harzer Hexenstieg, but also houses the largest herb park in Europe with a beautiful spice gallery. You should also not miss a visit to the Altenau private brewery with a guided tour and tasting. It is the only remaining brewery in the Upper Harz. Altenau is located in the middle of the Upper Harz, around ten kilometers from Clausthal-Zellerfeld and 15 kilometers from Goslar. To the east, 12 kilometers away, is the peak of the Brocken.
