Great welcome, staff great, room clean and spacious, TV did not work, shower good, generally fine throughout, great breakfast. Not sure about safety of the electrified fence/gate

Lovely Guest House

Sundune Guest House is a really lovely place to stay near Addo Elephant Park. The Manager, Byron, welcomed us warmly and with great charm, the room was large and very clean with en suite facilities and satellite TV. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the garden and the river. Highly recommended.

Ilse hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen und wir hatten einen sehr netten Austausch. Sie ist unglaublich fürsorglich und immer mit Antworten und Infos zur Stelle Als Ausgangspunkt für den Addo NP ist es perfekt. 7 Autominuten zum South Gate. Das Zimmer wirkt eher dunkel und die Unterkunft ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Leider hatten wir das kleine Appartement Richtung Strasse und konnten aufgrund des LKW Verkehrs sehr schlecht schlafen.

Die Bilder der Unterkunft vermitteln mir eine gehobene Mittelkasse, was ich persönlich nicht so empfand. Die Couch im Wohnzimmer ist durchgesessen und weißt starke Gebrauchsspuren auf, welche durch eine Decke verdeckt werden. Ca 100m neben an befindet sich eine Tankstelle, ein SPAR und ein Parkplatz, welcher rege von großen Trucks genutzt wird, Obwohl das Appartment zur Fluß Seite liegt, empfand ich entspanntes relaxen auf dem großzügigen Balkon etwas schwierig. Zudem veranstalteten eine Reihe von Freunden eines weiteren Gastes ein ausgelassenes Picknick am am Gästehaus eigenem River Grundstück. Ein 2 Plattenherd in der „ Küchenzeile“ wäre schön gewesen. Mikrowelle war vorhanden. Frühstück wurde Samstag ab 07:30 angeboten, Sonntag ab 07:00. Da ich früh im Addo NP sein wollte, habe ich eine Frühstücksbox vorgezogen. Diese enthielt 500ml Wasser, 1 Apfel, 1 Joguhrt, 1 kl Fruchtsaft und dem SPAR typischen 2er Toastpack bestehend aus überwiegend Mayonaise mit karg bemessenem Hühnchenfleisch. Es gab kein Schild für Room Service ja oder nein, so dass ich davon ausging, ein Room Service erfolgt, was sich dann Abends leider nicht bestätigte.

Tout prêt d'Addo et du resto Taste of Africa, délicieux. Piscine à côté. Petit déjeuner complet et très bon. Avons été upgradés pour un 2 chambres. Le manager, une soie.
