Second stay here. No issue with lack of air con at this time of year but would be a serious consideration in summer like last time. Check in was swift, if rather short in manner, maybe the language barrier caused some misunderstanding as my German is so rusty I seldom even bother to open with it! It's an older place with keys rather than key cards. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stop (30 seconds across the square to the station). That said I'd spend a bit more if you're here in summer or for a holiday.

The carpets were filthy but overall good stay. Also the location was just off the main train station which made it an excellent choice. We did not have any breakfast and room service was great!

I booked a bit last minute so the price was high, around 200 per night. For that price, it was absolutely terrible value. I stayed in December so it was a very busy time. The location is convenient but it is also a very noisy area. The hotel itself is a bit old and while it was renovated at some point, it does not appear to have air conditioning which could be a problem in hot weather. You will have difficulty sleeping with the window open due to all the noise. The housekeeping starts early, before 9 am, and they are quite noisy in general but one particular morning one of them was very talkative and the door and walls let in all the sound from the hallway and surrounding rooms so sleeping in after a long night of drinking kolsh is quite difficult. The bed and the pillows in particular were very uncomfortable. I'm still not sure I would book a stay here again even at half the price I paid. I've stayed in much more comfortable rooms for less than that.

The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location. Looked like they tried to update the hotel, although a few features were still a little outdated (you still had an actual key to the room).

What a great hotel amazing location next to the cathedral and train station. The staff was incredible and very welcoming. Side note when we checked out they held our luggage in a locked room so we could visit the Christmas Market again. Highly recommend.

Nice hotel, great location very friendly and informative staff. breakfast was not good but we arrived at 9:30 and breakfast ended at 10 so they were out of many items like boiled eggs fruit some cheeses croissants also scrambled eggs were cold and unappetizing. the lesson is to arrive early for breakfast
