The entire chalet is yours to enjoy. To ensure the space is perfectly prepared for every guest, our host supply closet—located at the back of the master bedroom—remains tucked away. For our guests joining us for four nights or longer, we are happy to open this space for your use of the laundry facilities. We kindly ask that you use only the provided guest amenities so we can maintain a consistent, high-end experience for everyone who visits.
The Neighborhood:
Your Gateway to Adventure & Serenity
The chalet is located in a very quaint subdivision of Woodland Park mainly formed of vacation or second homes. While Aspen Grove Chalet feels worlds away, it serves as a perfectly central home base for exploring the Pikes Peak region. Whether you're seeking high-adrenaline summits or a quiet corner with a craft latte, you are minutes from the best of the high country.
Mountain Hikes & Pathfinding
• Lovell Gulch Trail: A local favorite just minutes away. This 5-mile loop offers stunning Pikes Peak views and is dog-friendly (with some off-leash areas for well-behaved companions).
• Red Rocks Trail (Woodland Park): A gentle, scenic walk through ponderosa pines leading to striking sandstone formations—perfect for a meditative morning stroll with your dog.
• The Crags Trail: For a true alpine experience, drive a short distance to Divide for this 4-mile trek. It’s easy on the paws with needle-padded paths and ends with breathtaking rock spires.
Artisan Coffee & Elevated Dining
• Cafe Leo: For the connoisseur. A modern, high-end roastery in the heart of town perfect for a slow morning espresso or a fresh pastry.
• Joanie’s Deli & Bakery: A cozy staple for artisan sandwiches and homemade sweets. Their pet-friendly front patio is a great spot to enjoy a post-hike lunch.
• Boards & Barrels Bistro and Whiskey House:
Unique twists on traditional fare with a wide selection of whiskey and bourbons
• BierWerks Brewery: Relaxed and authentic. Grab a local craft brew and enjoy the mountain air on their welcoming outdoor terrace.
Curated Local Exploration
Beyond the trails, you are ideally positioned to reach the region’s iconic landmarks:
• Nature & Landmarks: Garden of the Gods (25 mins), Mueller State Park (15 mins), and the Pikes Peak Cog Railway (30 mins).
• Culture & History: The Manitou Cliff Dwellings, the Olympic Training Center, and the charming boutiques of Old Colorado City.
• For the Pups: If your dog needs some social time, the fenced Golden Meadows Dog Park in town offers plenty of space to run under the mountain sun.
Getting Around:
Your Arrival
Our chalet is tucked away on authentic mountain roads to preserve its quiet atmosphere. For your comfort and safety, an AWD vehicle is essential during the winter and highly recommended throughout the year. Upon booking, we provide a specialized arrival guide with a preferred entry route that avoids the steeper terrain suggested by standard GPS. Please keep a copy of these directions handy to ensure your journey into the pines is as peaceful as the stay itself.
Other Things to Note:
A Mindful Approach to Your Stay
To maintain the serenity and safety of the Aspen Grove Chalet, we ask our guests to embrace a few mindful practices during their mountain retreat.
The Journey: Arrival & Navigation
Our chalet is tucked away on authentic mountain terrain to preserve its quiet atmosphere.
• Vehicle Requirements: For your comfort and safety, an AWD or 4WD vehicle is essential during the snow season (October–May) and highly recommended year-round due to our natural dirt roads and steep inclines.
• Winter Flexibility: Our local community volunteers work hard to maintain the roads, but heavy snow (especially in February and March) can cause delays. We suggest keeping your travel schedule flexible when snow is in the forecast.
Preserving Our Natural Resources
As part of our commitment to sustainable mountain living, the chalet operates on a cistern water system. This water is pristine, potable, and safe for all your needs, but it is not an unlimited supply.
• Water Mindfulness: We kindly ask that you be conscious of your water footprint—ensure faucets are off when not in use and only run full loads in the dishwasher.
• Laundry Facilities: To ensure a stable water supply for all guests, laundry facilities are available for stays of 4 nights or longer. Please ensure your guest count is accurate so we can prepare the cistern accordingly.
Space & Accessibility
The chalet is designed across three beautiful levels to maximize the forest views, which does include several sets of stairs:
• The Layout: The main living spaces are on the second level. The Master Suite is on the ground floor (accessible via internal stairs or a private exterior sliding door), and the cozy loft with two queen beds is on the third level.
• Mobility Note: Because of the exterior deck stairs and the multi-level interior, this home may not be ideal for those with restricted mobility. We encourage you to review the photos to ensure the space is a comfortable fit for your group.
Respecting the Transition
To ensure every guest enters a perfectly sanitized and "Modern Zen" environment, our cleaning team requires every minute of their window.
• Checkout: We are unable to accommodate late checkouts due to our high demand and same-day arrivals. We appreciate your prompt 11:00 AM checkout to avoid the $150 late fee (applied after 11:30 AM) and to keep the sanctuary ready for the next traveler.
• Extended Stays: For retreats of 10 days or longer, an additional deep-cleaning fee applies to maintain the home’s high standards. Please reach out for details prior to booking.
Cancellation Procedures
While we adhere to the cancellation window selected at the time of booking, please be advised that all refunds are subject to a 3.2% nonrefundable processing fee. This amount covers the cost charged by our payment processor and is withheld from the total refund amount should you choose to cancel within the allowed timeframe. Let us know if you have any questions regarding this policy.
Interaction with Guests:
I live and work locally and am always available to assist while respecting your privacy. I’m never more than 20 minutes away if you need anything. Feel free to message me via the app anytime; my direct contact information will also be provided post-booking for your peace of mind.

Amazing!! Let's start with the house; it exceeded the description. Immaculate, stylish, well decorated, stocked with everything you might need along with things that you don't think of and were so thoughtful. Like hot chocolate, granola bars, lotion, bear spray, everything. Location- This is a proper mountain retreat complete with hilly dirt roads, great views, quiet, with wild turkeys and plenty of deer just hanging out. The host- Oana was just a delight. From the moment we booked information flowed and with the few questions we had she responded almost immediately, honestly a better host I have not known. My wife and I (from downtown Chicago) have been to the woodland park area and wanted a more rural mountain experience to unwind and experience peace, we got it. What an amazing experience with trails nearby and being in this mountain retreat setting really recharged us. If 6 stars was an option I would give it here! Thanks Oana!

Best kept VRBO we’ve ever stayed at. Loved the location; close enough to town to be convenient and far enough into the woods to feel remote. Owner is very responsive although we never had to contact due to an issue because there were no issues. The family loved their week long stay and getting to explore the mountains.

The Aspen Grove Chalet and Oana (host) did not disappoint! Actually, this is probably the best vacation rental I have ever stayed in. They have this place well stocked and very organized! It was clean and had zero pet odor, even being a pet-friendly place. There are two ways into the "neighborhood" and one is very steep, you would absolutely need a 4WD or AWD vehicle. The other way is more manageable and a very experienced driver without 4WD could make it with no issue in dry weather, but the driveway is also a little steep and could cause issue. My family and I stayed here from Thursday-Monday over the second week of October and the weather was beautiful. We did drop the thermostats on the main level and loft down to 55 during our stay because it kept warm all on it's own (almost too warm sometimes lol) and it was low 60s outside. We did turn on the fireplace in the evenings, which warmed the place up quickly. My husband, daughter and I stayed in the loft and used both the ceiling fan and AC while we slept. My father stayed in the basement and kept that thermostat on 70-75, which made it VERY warm. The Chalet looks almost exactly as it is pictured, but there has been some furniture and decor changes since the professional pictures in this listing. I didn't even notice the changes until I started writing my review, and the last few photos do show the new couches. I found the place even cozier in person than the pictures! And we saw deer almost every single day right outside.

Very clean property. Everything you could need and it included some snacks. Like it says in listing there are no doors to loft or bedroom downstairs but wasn't an issue for us. Still private master bedroom. Saw deer from living room window.

Fishing trip
The Chalet was a perfect center point for us to relax between fishing spots. We fished 11 mile, Spinney, Cheesman Canyon and South Platte River along Deckers. It’s a little off the beaten path, but is exactly what we were looking for, quiet and very comfortable to wind down a long day of fishing. The town of Woodland is nearby and has plenty restaurants and supplies. We recommend the chalet and plan on visiting it again.

Perfect in so many ways!
This is a beautiful house tucked up in the mountains not far at all from Colorado Springs. The drive out to the place gets you excited to see the place..It's beyond Gorgeous!! The house is well equipped with everything from kitchen ware to any spice you need. Deer are visible right from your big open windows and the rest of the property is beautiful just to sit and look at. The Host is very tentative, if you need anything at all, you will hear back within minutes. I give the Host 10 out of 10 on communication and directions/instructions. All in all this is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it. Thank you again for the perfect place for our group of four and the two fur babies to celebrate Thanksgiving!!

Perfect Little Mountain Get Away
We absolutely loved our stay at this home!! It was my husband, myself and three kids ages 5, 7, 9. The house was so clean, well organized, clearly well maintained, the hosts were very attentive and always quick to respond/great communication, the beds were comfortable, the towels and linens were great quality, the kitchen was fully stocked with anything you might possibly need. All in all, this property far exceeded my expectations. We also saw lots of wildlife; deer, wild turkeys, and we think we saw a bear one evening. We did not spend much time in the Woodland Park area but rather used the cabin as a middle point for day trips in the area. One day we went to Cripple Creek and did the railroad and mine tour (which ended up being our favorite activity), another day we went to the Cave of the Winds (avoid going here on a weekend, way too many people), and the last day we drove up to 11 mile reservoir and went fishing and the kids caught minnows and crawdads and had a great time in the crystal clear lake. The biggest downfall was that the house is a little farther off of highway 24 than I anticipated. But the drive is pretty and it was not a huge deal. Great trip, house and memories in the area!!
