Casa Maria is a truly amazing country house that is very private and pet friendly. It is situated in the beautiful natural surroundings of Comares, an unique whitewashed Andalusian village that was voted ‘Pueblo magico d’España’.
Ana, the owner, has turned the finca of her beloved grandmother into a modern, well equipped and lovely house that gives you the holiday feeling from the moment you step through the gate. Everything you see here is her idea. From the antique floor tiles that she reused in an original way in the bathrooms, over the bright and spacious living room/kitchen to the outside area with cosy corners, terrace, build-up pool and a BBQ-zone with sink. There even is a restored antique wood-oven in the garden where guests can bake their own bread or pizzas.
When you enter this cosy house, you’ll be amazed how bright it is. The terrace and garden with pool are very private and allow guests to enjoy an intimate holiday at a unique location. The beauty of the natural surroundings invite you to hike, bike or just relax and practice ’the dolce far niente’.
Casa Maria has 3 bedrooms and 2 beautiful bathrooms, 1 en-suite with the master bedroom with bathtub and another with shower, a bright living room with woodstove and smart tv, an open kitchen with dishwasher and an extra room with washing machine. There are shutters everywhere.
This house is perfect for guests who want privacy and who love staying in a natural environment, without being too far from bars and restaurants. A 5-minutes’ drive takes you into the hamlet of Los Ventorros where you can find bars and restaurants and 5 minutes more by car take you to Comares, also known as ‘The pearl of the Axarquia’.
Comares, a typical Andalusian white village with narrow streets that lead you to extraordinary corners with spectacular views at every step you take. Follow the ceramic footsteps and discover the Moorish past… but don’t forget to stop now and then in a local bar. Comares is surrounded by beautiful countryside, full of impressive native trees and impressive paths that invite you to hike and enjoy nature. You can find Spain’s biggest zipline here and also a FREE PADEL COURT.
There is a supermarket, bakery (bread baked in wood-oven!), pharmacy, ATM and several bars and restaurants.
Only 30 minutes by car, bring you to the well-known beach of Torre del Mar. Eat crackling fresh fish in one of the many chiringuitos or enjoy a nice ice cream while you walk on the beautiful promenade. Velez Malaga that lies just next to it, has a big commercial center and many supermarkets.
Nearby you can visit Nerja, well known for the ‘Balcon d’Europa’ and the impressive caves. The Viñuela lake is a nice spot to hike and have a meal in one of the restaurants with view at the lake.
During a day trip, you can visit all the touristic highlights of Andalusia such as Malaga, cultural and gastronomic capital with its streets full of beautiful facades, submerged in history. And how about a visit to Granada and the beautiful Alhambra palace ? The famous Caminito del Rey in Ardales takes you through the gorges of El Chorro via an impressive hiking path. Cordoba with the Mezquita is unique in the world. A cathedral build inside a mosque.
