This is a lovely, modern hotel. The room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was ideal (just a short walk over the bridge to shopping downtown plus lots of good pubs within walking distance).

Brilliant place in the middle of town

This place is incredible. It is directly in the middle of town and just in a great place to access everything. The staff were really accommodating with everything and just really lovely. The room is really well fitted out and very comfortable. I’m very nice sensitive and was completely quiet in spite of being in the middle of town. There’s parking right opposite.

I chose the Residence Inn as I knew it was on the Quays so close to MacCurtain Street and places like Sin é. The Opera House, English Market, Washington Street and Oliver Plunkett Street are all short walks across the river too. The hotel was clean and well presented, staff always had a smile and a greeting each time I passed and breakfast was functional with coffee on tap. (The AC was just as handy as the central location as it was cold and wet while I was there but that didn't dampen my break and a chance to catch up with friends.)

We have stayed all around Cork at different properties and I would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment over any other in the area. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied and the accommodations were excellent. Located at City Center and close to a slew of restaurants, buses, stores, entertainment and the train station is a fifteen minute walk.

Staff and location get a 10/10. It couldn't have been more convenient for Cork City. You're about a 1minute walk from the Theatre. There was an odd cooking, or heat, smell when we came back to the room each time. I think it was from the heat pump to be honest. It cleared very quickly when we opened the window. The thermostat took a little bit of google investigation. There's an on/off button on the top right. Once you have pressed that, just use the up down arrows. All the windows also have flip close vents so if you feel a draught you might want to check they're closed. The TV's in the room have Chromecast installed so you can use Netflix on there by casting to it from your phone which was awesome. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and eat. They also have washing liquid, a sponge, and dishwasher tablets. There's also an ice bucket and you can get ice from the bar. Lots of hotels make you check in before giving you a discounted car park ticket. This system is so much better! You park in the car park (Q park carrolls quay) which is about 10M beyond the entrance door and take a ticket at the barrier as usual. The hotel then validate it on check out to obtain the discount. This saved so much hassle with trying to find a space in a loading bay to go check in and it was fantastic.
