We recently stayed at Dutch Inn and overall, most of our experience was positive. The rooms were comfortable, the amenities were what we expected, and the majority of the staff we interacted with were friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
Unfortunately, there was one staff member we encountered several times—during booking, check-in, and in the evenings—whose unfriendly and dismissive manner made our stay less enjoyable. This same staff member also spoke with our friends who were planning to book a stay with us, and the interaction was so negative that they decided to take their business down the road to another establishment. We weren’t aware of our friend’s poor interaction until we mentioned ours later in the weekend.
We don’t want one individual to overshadow the rest of the staffs efforts. Still, given how often we had to deal with this particular employee, it did impact our overall impression of the hotel.
With some attention to guest service consistency, we believe this hotel could provide a wonderful experience for all visitors.
