Honestly the property was not worth what we paid. I wish I’d have spent a bit more for a nicer property. It was clean so I’ll give them that. Breakfast was not good, the pool and hot tub don’t open until 10am so I couldn’t do a morning swim. In a pinch this is ok but I probably won’t be back

Our room smelled like mold. Sheets didn’t smell fresh. Mold around bathtub and under the bath room sink. Rodent or insect droppings along the sides of the microwave. Lamps were rusted over and covered in dust.

Staff was great, location great. Entire property is suffering from deferred maintenance. Stained furniture, water stains on ceiling, paint chips, dings, etc throughout. You can tell it has been a very nice place, but it’s currently a little beat up and in need of reinvestment to bring it back to where it could be. Still a nice place, but condition a bit rough around the edges.

Plantation is a comfortable, reasonably priced property on the island. It is walkable to some things, and a short drive to others. We have stayed here on multiple occasions and would not hesitate to stay here again. This is not to say it is perfect - there are minor things that sometimes need to be fixed/improved - but overall it is a good pick. (For example, on our most recent stay, the desk chair was broken, the tv was set to some sort of visually impaired mode which spoke loudly every time we changed the channel or volume, and the breakfast had no fruit and some issues with crowds and stocking. Last time, the ice machine was intermittently working and we had to ask them to heat the hot tub, etc.)

It was good, didn't sleep well the mattress has big indention it from people sleeping on them. They need new mattress !!!! The floor was very dirty not by the eye but walk barefooted on it your feet was big time very brown !! Quiet place to stay

Scam

Highly recommend staying elsewhere. If for whatever reason you must stay here, take photos of all of the broken and damaged areas in your room at check in and take a video of your entire room at checkout. The room we stayed in had a broken pipe in the kitchenette. I informed front desk of this at check in and they said maintenance would be by. They never came. I didn’t feel like spending my vacation nagging maintenance requests so I left it as it was and tried to enjoy myself. On checkout they fined me hundreds and insisted there was never a maintenance request and I had damaged the room. Have never had an issue even similar to this with other hotels. Horrible service, horrible musty hotel rooms. Mattresses hard and springs loud, bottoms of the tubs rusted out. Only nice thing I can say is the shower had good water pressure. The pool appears well maintained but is also in constant shade and is always cold. This place is a nightmare. I’d rather stay at econolodge.
