I was very disappointed at this hotel. Being a gold VIP Expedia member, I was expecting a better service from the woman in reception. She did not explain or said anything regarding the perks and the free breakfast that came with our stay.
The room almost smell like an old man has been staying there for weeks. The toilet bowl had SKID MARKS in them!! You'd think they would have cleaned this. My pregnant wife did not enjoy the experience. This is by far the worst VIP Expedia hotel we've stayed at.
One thing that we really liked was the food in the restaurant and the breakfast. Hence, the 2 stars.
We had a lovely Christmas stay at the Methuen Arms. For the first time, the whole family, immediate & extended, were able to be together for a hassle free Christmas lunch because the ‘Met’ took over. 😁 The staff were wonderful. We all loved it, so a big THANK YOU is called for. 👏
Really loved our stay here! The hotel is beautifully decorated, the room was comfortable and spacious, great food, lovely variety of dining spaces. The dog was welcomed and it was fantastic to be so close to Corsham park for walks. Will be back!
The hotel operates as a bar, restaurant and hotel. Thats great for most custoners as it means one single place for eveything. Unfortunately if you are traveling for business and need to get some decent sleep i would recommend you stay clear. They have a lovely outdoor beer garden which means very loud noise which progressively gets lounder until 11.30pm. If like me you stay in room 19 or 20 you will absloutly hear eveything. The hotel is clearly aware of this issue as they provide earplugs... they dont help. First review of a hotel ever; this year i have stayed in 45 different hotels across uk and this is by far the worst. The room was lovely and cosy and beyond exemplary just, the noise really did let this place down.
We pulled into the hotel after a long flight with a rental car not working properly. Rose was at the reception reception desk and was very busy with guests. She is so good at her job, getting guests through properly and quickly. She went out of her way to assist us and make sure we had a nice ending to a stressful day. It was much appreciated.
