One of the best beaches of Cozumel

this is the 3rd time my family, and I stayed at the Cozumeleño. we like this hotel because it has one of the best beaches in Cozumel. The service is good in relation to the hotel category, very helpful staff. We noticed that the hotel has less variety in food. The day we arrived the pool wasn´t very clean but next day the problem was solved. there was just something I didn't like. There was a tourist, I guess she was Afro-American who was behaving unproperly for a familiar hotel and showing her body. There was a lady at the front desk who saw her behaviour and didn´t tell her anything, on the contrary, she was smiling at her for the things she was doing. She saw I was with my kids sited and didn´t say anything to her. I guess because she was American, I wonder what had happened if that woman had been Mexican. I do recommend the hotel overall for the front beach it has and the good service of most of the personnel. The food is acceptable.

This resort is very dated, the furniture and fixings were old. BUT, it was super clean. The rooms didn’t even have any dust. The staff were always cleaning and taking care of things. The food was mediocre at best and even dinner in the restaurant wasn’t very good. The buffet was a little wild at times between the birds flying in and out despite the netting. But again, the staff kept everything really clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the water was hot and the ac cold. The views from the room were all of the ocean.

This is the second time there. We love it! The staff is amazing!!! They are constantly serving and so very accommodating. They are happy and do friendly. Too many wonderful people to list. We were quite disappointed by the selection and quality of food at the buffet, however the dinners in the restaurant were good. The pools were not very clean. In one pool, it was so murky that you couldn’t see your legs when standing in the pool. Very gross.

La ubicación del Hotel es perfecta todas las habitaciones tienen vista al océano, sin embargo el estado de como se encuentra el Hotel es viejo y necesita muchas reparaciones, las albercas se ven sucias y viejas, las habitaciones no les funciona las televisiones, los baños, las regaderas todas oxidadas y azulejos quebrados, el clima también estuvo fallando, estuvimos una semana y ya queríamos que se pasara la semana para poder regresarnos a casa. LOS DUEÑOS del Hotel deberían poner atención sino no tarda en quebrar ese Hotel

Reviews that mention terrible checkin process are absolutrly correct. We arrived 2 hours before 11am check in and the front deak wanted to charge $80usd to allow us to check in to the property. We didnt need full access or even food or drinks but wantef to just check out the beach. The front desk person told us to sit on the chairs and not move until 11am. What?! Im on vacation, not on time out. Ultimalely another staff came and told us to enjoy the beach. The check in process was long and included extra resort fees $15usd/room/night. None of this was mentioned in our all inclusive package. Rooms were clean and large and I think most if not all have ocean views. The best part of thia resort is the activity staff. Leo, Cesar and Cristian were incredibly fun and made up for the grumpy front desk folks. Palapas are available if you are up well before 7am. Many folks chain smoke all day under palapas. Gross! Snorkeling is wonderful and they have free guided tours at 11am. There is one buffet restaurant and one a la carte. You need to line up before 8am to get an a la carte reservation. Food is fine. There is no night life at this resort. No shows. No bar. Not even a lobby with music. After dinner you can enjoy the beach, go off property or go to bed. Nada. Zilch. Nothing to do. This is a budget property and it shows. The staff (aside from check in) are incredible and its a very mellow place with almost no rules. Example you can bring food and drink to the beach. 7/10

Hotel is very old and outdated. First room (old side) the bathroom was not ideal (mold). Second room (new side) was much better. Grounds were always clean and maintained. Hotel staff was very pleasant and always willing to help. The extra activites on site for free were pleasant and fun. Lots of interaction for the kids and adults.

The resort is showing signs of neglect, the pool tiles are falling off, the food is horrible, they use third-quality ingredients, and the food is prepared and served as if it were for animals. My wife and I had to go out every day to eat, the food is really terrible.

The food was awful in the buffet. Black birds flying all over and diving into the buffet food. I was standing in line for an omelette one day, and had a black bird poop on my arm. So disgusting. Inside restaurant food was delicious. Snorkeling excellent. Beautiful view. NO nighttime entertainment whatsoever. I would not return to this resort.

The location is amazing, but the rooms are in really poor condition. The staff works really hard. They are so nice. The buffet food is horrible but the restaurant options are amazing. You just have to make a reservation. The breakfast is really good in the restaurant as well without any reservation required, but avoid the buffet. The rooms are very worn down. The views were amazing from the balcony but the bathroom amenities not so good as the hairdryer was burnt and didn’t work , the bathroom sliding doors looked moldy. They need to upgrade the rooms definitely.
