Sweltering Weekend on the Whitefish

Came up to Crosslake for two nights for a nearby wedding. With weather pushing into the 90s it was nice to have a small AC retreat close to town square. There are walking paths to almost everything nearby. Pool and hot tub were a but warm for the heat, but are likely amazing in the shoulder seasons and winter. We especially enjoyed the Loon Fest, Cross Lake Recreation Area beach, and CrossWoods golf course. Excited to come back and "cross" other activities off our list. Great value for North Woods lodging. 8/10 overall. Would stay again.

The perfect place

This place was perfect and with hotels.com it was the only room in town. We would happily stay here again. The room was very big and close to everything we needed. Staff was nice and the whole hotel was really clean. Definitely recommend it.

Did not like that we had a loud noise coming from our bathroom all night. Called the front desk, they came to the room and said it was the fan in the bathroom and the noise would stop. Noise did not stop, got louder, went on all night. Was not the fan!!! Was up all night! Room 210

The beds are terribly rock-hard. I couldn’t sleep. We actually checked out early so we could drive 2.5 hours to take a nap in our own beds. That’s how bad they are. My spouse couldn’t sleep. What’s the point of the stay if you can’t actually sleep. It was clean, the comforter was scratchy, it was quiet, but until you replace those mattresses I would never book two nights in a row there, much less one night ever again. Are these beds original to the hotel almost 20 years ago? There’s definitely an opportunity for improvement. I personally wouldn’t stay there again unless they updated that situation.

this hotel isn’t a beautiful area of town. It’s well kept in often very quiet. Lovely restaurant right in the parking lot have stayed here before and will continue to stay. Friendly staff!
