Our house “Alba”, the dawn, is hidden in the small settlement “Cala Panizo” at the easternmost end of Andalusia on the Costa de Almería. A few steps take you directly from the property to the beach in the small bay.
The house is simple and not perfect – we are gradually renovating it. But the location is unique on a large property right by the sea. On almost 100 square meters, the house offers space for 6 people in 3 bedrooms (with 2 double beds and 2 single beds) and you can spend sociable evenings in the spacious kitchen-living room with an open fireplace. If you get up early you can watch the sunrise over the sea from the terrace and enjoy your first coffee while listening to the sound of the sea. The house is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable life: a bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and washing machine, a kitchen with a gas stove, large refrigerator and dishwasher, a living room with a comfortable sofa and open fireplace, a large bedroom two 90 cm single beds (which can be moved together or pushed apart), a smaller bedroom with a 180 cm double bed and a very small bedroom with a 160 cm double bed. On the sea side, the house is surrounded by a loggia with 2 dining areas and there is a large terrace. There is another dining area in the courtyard at the back of the house - depending on the position of the sun and the shade, there is always a pleasant place. To the left of the house there is a small pool (200 x 200 cm, 150 cm deep), which is too small to swim in, but provides wonderful cooling on hot days. After all, you can swim endlessly in the sea, which is 50 meters from the house.
The beach directly in front of the house is rocky. The best entry point for swimming is a few meters to the right of the neighboring property. There is a pebble beach about 10 minutes' walk away and there are numerous sandy beaches 5 - 15 minutes away by car, including Playa de los Cocedores, which is perfect with children and also has 2 chiringuitos/beach bars.
The house is located on a sloping, terraced site and is surrounded by large, shady eucalyptus trees, cacti, pine trees and aloes. It's a bit overgrown and hasn't seen a gardener for a long time. As soon as the main renovation work on the house is completed, we turn our attention to the outside area.
The current condition of the house is that it is wonderful to live in if you don't mind any cosmetic defects. In the spring we installed a new kitchen, laid new pipes, completely renovated a bedroom, etc. but some of the walls in the other rooms need to be repainted, some of the furniture needs to be replaced with nicer ones, the pool is newly renovated, but the outside also needs it House a fresh coat of paint... All of this is planned for next autumn, because over the summer we would like to give you the opportunity to use this idyllic place as your holiday home so that we can then invest the income back into the house.
