Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy
I would NOT recommend this property based on our experience. Upon arrival, the home was in an unacceptable state of cleanliness. The floors had clearly not been swept or mopped, with visible dirt, dust, and dried spills throughout. The vinyl flooring was so dirty our shoes were sticking to it. There were handprints on the walls, food smeared on a dining table placemat, spills on cabinets and tabletops, and open food containers left in the refrigerator and freezer.The bedrooms did not appear to have fresh linens, and the beds looked as though they had recently been slept in. The bathrooms were not properly cleaned and contained personal items left behind. A carpet steam cleaner was also left in the upstairs walkway with dirty water still inside.I immediately contacted the host and provided a four-minute video documenting the condition of the home. Instead of addressing the concerns, the host insisted there was nothing wrong with the property and questioned my “standard of clean.” When I mentioned the leftover items and carpet cleaner, I was told we could use them if we wanted. That is not an acceptable expectation for a vacation rental.I requested a refund because the home was not in a sanitary condition for my family to stay, but the request was refused. We were forced to book three hotel rooms at the last minute for our three-day stay, creating significant unexpected expenses.Cleanliness and a properly prepared home are basic expectations of any vacation rental.
