Fine if you know what to expect. It was a decent place with a bed close to marina with convenient location. Breakfast was good and staff was great. Do not expect nice and new though- Room was old and had a bad smell. Black mold or something in bathtub and very run down. Super cute building and great location but building and rooms need major updates.

Overall a nice place to stay. However, there were few plumbing problems . Bathrooms sink stopper was not installed properly so stopper wouldn’t go up and down; bathtub stopper was very hard to engage and bathtub was not draining well when stopper was removed.

This hotel is near and dear to my heart. I grew up in the area and am super disappointed with how run down it has become. The faucet handle came off (completely) when I turned on the cold water. Dark mold in the shower and on floor. 2 towels had unidentified stuff on them. Hair dryer didn't dry at all made lots of noise but wasn’t hot and I ended up standing in front of air conditioner. Walls were dirty - they also looked moldy and I heard my neighbor pop open a coke. Awful. I think it’s being torn down soon but then they shouldn’t book stays if the rooms are that bad.

New pillows! They are awful, new curtain rods , they are all rusted, actually the entire bathroom needs attending to, looks to be mold around tub seams. Lobby attendants were polite and friendly.

The kitchen had very limited utensils, no dish towel, just one cup and a couple of plates. There was no air conditioning in the bedroom. overall, the room presented as being very old and a little musty smelling.

Bed and towels were clean. Room was old and tired. No phone in room, keycard in doors didn't work well and remote was broken. All minor but showing its age. This is my fourth time staying there and I probably won't go back due to the wear and tear.

Property is not being well maintained. Fireplaces all turned off permanently. Breakfast minimal. No heat in some rooms in suites. Not enough luggage carts to check in and out. Great location and friendly staff but property has gone downhill.

Fabulous location and a great price. We had an amazing view of the Dana Point harbor. The staff is fruendly, professional and helpful. However the property is run down and in desperate need of a renovation.

Employees were pleasant. Hotel is run down and not very clean. Our toilet stopped working and the front desk dropped off a plunger, which didn't fix the problem. We later discovered that earlier, while my daughter and I were out, maintenence had stopped by to ask my grandson if the toilet was working ok, so apparently were aware of a problem when renting the room. We changed rooms, but there was also an issue with an apparent water leak in a nearby room and a resulting horrible smell in the common areas. The breakfast service was one of the saddest I've seen. Next morning someone decided to work on the stinky room right after breakfast with the door open? We were gagging while leaving the hotel. The property is right on the harbor but that's the only thing to recommend it.
