This charming family beach house is new to the market and just a short walk to the beach. The Caddy Shack is recently updated and features 3 bedrooms, 1 & 1/2 baths with a spacious outdoor privacy shower. There is a fenced in yard making it perfect for your furry friend. The large wrap around deck is perfect for relaxing any time of day. This beach home will comfortably sleep 6 and has views of both the gulf and bay. With tv’s in every room and WiFi, it’s a perfect spot to unwind and relax inside or out. For the fisherman, we have a sturdy fish cleaning station with attached spray hose. ***We are dog friendly w/an additional non-refundable $75 pet fee to cover the cost of additional cleaning***limit of 2 dogs***

The property was very cozy and welcoming overall. We enjoyed ourselves with our 2 dogs. The local people and businesses were very nice. We liked that several places were pet friendly. Everyone who visits must get a golf cart. They are convenient, and a blast to ride on.

This was the second time staying at the Caddy Shack. It was great again. Close walking distance to the beach. We chose this VRBO because it’s dog friendly and our dogs absolutely LOVE the beach. Morning and evening walks on the beach are amazing.

Our family (two kids, two adults, and a dog) had a wonderful time. We have been coming to the AL Gulf Coast (Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, and Dauphin Island) for years and this was the best rental experience we’ve had by far. If you have small kids and/or a dog, this is perfect for you. We cannot speak more highly of the accommodations and hosts!

Another great stay at the Caddy Shack

We had another amazing stay at The Caddy Shack - even though Mother Nature wanted to make sure we saw all her fireworks and winds with big storms until Sunday. As always, the house was inviting and the perfect location across the street from the beach. We loved having our teenagers and our fur babies on Dauphin Island for the end of 2024.

Awesome little beach house getaway

I brought my wife, 2 kids, and our 2 dogs down for the weekend. We specifically were looking for places that allowed dogs and figured we’d have to “settle” on a place just so they could go. Couldn’t have been further from what we found at the Caddy Shack. It was perfect. Couldn’t have been more perfect. Everything we needed was there and it was less than a 2 block walk to the beach. We all highly recommend the Caddy Shack.

Wonderful family vacation

We loved our stay on Dauphin Island. It was a first time visiting and the people on the Island are so friendly. The home is located close to everything that we wanted to do. A short walk to the beach. We enjoyed walking our dogs in the neighborhood during the evenings. We would love to visit again.

Really cool place

We loved our stay. It was the perfect space for our family of 5. (2 adults, two teenagers, one dog). The little fenced-in area for the dog was a great addition. The outdoor shower is a nice touch. The walk to the beach is short. Tranquil area, great for disconnecting. We plan to come back next year! We were early getting to town but the host had it ready early and let us check in early. 5 stars all around!

The perfect place to call home for a week at the beach!

Such a welcoming environment. They have everything you need - we actually stayed here two years ago and it was so awesome we chose to stay here again. My family rented a different house through a local company and the accommodations / responsiveness of their property vs staying here made it very apparent this was the right call! They had beach chairs and umbrella ready for our beach day, our dogs loved it here, such a close walk to the beach, outside shower is helpful to rinse off. It’s the perfect place for your DI escape. Thankful to John & Caroline!

Great stay

The property was perfect for our family and the listing is quite accurate. The furniture was very clean and nice, but the beds were not the most comfortable. The beach is within walking distance if you use the cut-through (we didn't notice the cut-through until our last day) if you access through the public beach parking costs $10 a day but is good for all three public beaches. There were a lot of mosquitos in the area. The fenced-in yard was quite small for our dogs but still worked out well for us. They provided a lot of extra conveniences (beach chairs, umbrella, towels) we only used the chairs but it was a great surprise. They do have cameras on the property which we've never had beyond the Ring doorbell, so that felt a little weird. Overall, it was an excellent stay and we would definitely stay there again.

The property is managed by the owners, who are quick to respond to questions. The house is so clean and uncluttered, with super cute beach decor. It’s a great stay with little kids. Everything worked as it should. If you forget something, the house probably has it. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great, quiet vacation!

Such a great time at this spot. We normally go for the more popular PCB but were impressed with this place. Property was within an easy walking distance to beach and only a 3 min drive to a park to drop our kayaks in.

Awesome dog friendly vacation rental

For the last few years, I’ve taken beach vacations with just my family, but always wanted to take the dogs to the beach. Being from Kansas, it was a daunting task. When I saw this rental, the location, the ease to everything on the island, the fenced yard, and the reasonable pet fee. I decided to go for it and booked this house. The owners answered every question for me, and even accommodated a change in dates due to an unknown conflict in schedule on my end. The homeowners are absolutely some of the best folks I have had to work with for a vacation rental. They provided everything I possibly could need including extra sheets to cover anything dog hair may stick to, and even so much as brought in a crockpot and air fryer for us to use for meal prep! If you want a great dog friendly rental, with fantastic homeowners, you will not regret this rental.

We had a wonderful time staying in the Caddy shack on Dauphin Island. It is a great location close to the canal, beach and restaurants. The hosts were great and the cottage had everything we needed. Great memories made:)

Little piece of Heaven on the Gulf

What a beautiful home and fantastic location. We loved the quick walk to the beach. Mybdogs loved the fenced in yard and lounging on the deck. The neighborhood is quiet and charming for daily dog walks. There's even a little community park a few blocks down that was perfect for letting the dogs chase a ball. The kids loved the bunk room and all of the toys, books and games provided. Two bathrooms was a bonus, as was the outdoor shower which became a huge hit for the the kids after beach time. Us adults loved the fully stocked kitchen and washer and dryer. The games were a huge hit too- we had fun playing dominoes every night. We brought boogie boards and beach towels, but didn't need to as the house had those provided too. We loved the beach theme throughout the house and the spaciois seating areas in the family room and deck. I could've lived on that deck with my book all week. Highly recommend this lovely home and if we ever return to DI we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for sharing it with us.
