Overall, the hotel was clean, comfortable, and presentable. However, our experience had several disappointments that affected our stay.
First, the assistance or offer for a room upgrade, even though we inquired and the price difference was significant. When we paid the final bill, we were shocked to find it was nearly double the original quote due to high taxes and hidden fees. We later learned there was an option to waive certain taxes, but the hotel did not inform us, which felt dishonest.
Our check-out was in the morning and like to be on time, only to find that the hotel-arranged driver to the airport was late. We paid over £50 (plus taxes) for the transfer and expected timely service.
Additionally, we had an upsetting experience with a hotel staff member who made inappropriate and discriminatory remarks about different religions, including Sikhism. As a Sikh traveling with a young child, I found this deeply offensive and unprofessional. While I understand people have personal opinions, such conversations are unacceptable in a hospitality setting where all guests should feel respected and safe.
We had paid over 4,000 rupees for the journey and overall expected a much higher standard of professionalism and service, especially from a luxury hotel.
