This hotel was exactly what I needed for a solo stay of 5 nights. It was conveniently located on the beautiful old harbor, had friendly staff, provided a solo room and a free breakfast. The location was perfect for taking the ferry to other parts of Lake Garda and it was only a 10 minute walk to the train station for visiting Verona and other areas of Italy. The tourist office is a few steps away, which was great for getting maps and other helpful visitor information.

We had a great stay at Hotel Piroscafo. The location is excellent, close to shops and restaurants, and the rooms are quaint and very clean. Parking was easy with their arrangement at a nearby underground lot (about a 6-minute walk), with in-and-out privileges billed directly by the hotel—very convenient. The included breakfast was excellent, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

The room was lovely although we requested a balcony room ( as we are smokers) this was dented us. There was a,smoking terrace but this was locked from 8pm to 8am, so at any other time, we had to go from the 2nd floor to the street area to smoke. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. On our last evening we asked the man at the front desk to book is a taxi to the station for 5.45am the following day . He said we were too late , but he'd try to message them. We said we seeded a confirmation às otherwise we'd have to leave 30 minutes earlier to walk up the steep hill with luggage. He said we should have booked it before 7pm, even though we'd spoken about this a few nights earlier. I asked why we weren't informed if this and his attitude became very challenging abd he said it wasn't his problem, it was ours. There was then some confusion over paying for our stay, and he slammed his paperwork down and was shouting and swearing in Italian, tho the swear words were unmistakable. At this point we had to walk outside to diffuse the situation. He did eventually book us a cab for the following morning, but failed to tell us we would have to pay double for a reservation, so we had to then pay 20 euros for a 4 minute ride . The rest of the staff were so friendly and heloful, and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable

We loved almost everything about this property. The location can’t be beat -we stayed in room 9 and the only criticism is that this very small (but has a great balcony). The shower is comically small. I understand other rooms have appropriate showers . Even with this issue we loved our stay in this hotel. Highly recommend

Old harbour view.

Perfectly situated in the old port area of Desenzano with the breakfast area including seats overlooking the little boats bobbing in the old harbour. There is also a balconied terrace with the same view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Grazie breakfast ladies, you were wonderful! Breakfast had lots of choice, probably the best breakfast we’ve ever had in Italy.

Fantastic hotel in a very nice area. Walkable from the train station in around 10 minutes. There are loads of bars/ restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel. The ferry to other areas of Lake Garda is just around the corner. The air con in the room worked very well in the heat! Breakfast had lots of nice options, although you needed an engineering degree to work the toaster. Would recommend to any family/ friends and would stay here again if we return.

Great location

Lovely location looking out at the water. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean. Room was smaller than appeared in pictures and shower was tiny but I’m told that is typical in Italy. Room was a little on the hot side with a/c controls not allowing you to adjust below 23 degrees Celsius and would automatically turn off every time you left the room. Location was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Lake Garda

The location is beautiful and right in the centre of town. 20 minutes walk from the train station and 5 from the ferry terminals. The balcony on our terrace had plenty room for the 2 of us to sit there and enjoy the view. Our room was comfortable although the shower cubicle on the small side. The room and hotel in general, although rather dated was spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout. The service from the breakfast team was superb as was the choice and quality of food on offer. Sitting outside on the sheltered terrace enjoying the view of the old harbour each morning is something that will be sorely missed by ourselves. Unfortunately, there was one downside to our stay when we had an issue with something in the bathroom one evening. The "no can do" attitude of one of the reception staff really let down our otherwise superb stay at this beautiful hotel and town.
