This property is in a great location on Lake Garda! The rooms were spacious but the central AC didn’t work and had to get the front desk staff to bring a remote for the wall unit which took a while to cool the room down. Once that was sorted, we didn’t have any issues. The beds are pretty hard but such is standard in many places around here. Finally, unrelated to the property, make sure you plan ahead for transportation. The bus and ferry run hourly and although the hotel offers to call a taxi for you, we were never able to actually get a taxi and ended up scrambling to make other plans. One day we used the bike shop next door to rent bikes and another we relied on the water taxis right out front. Also note that that ATMs here quickly run out of money for the day, so just plan ahead!

This is my first visit to this beautiful hotel, and I am so thrilled to have found this gem of a hotel in Desenzano del Garda. I was warmly greeted by Simone, who brought me to pick up my friend at the train station. Then, we were both greeted by Federico, whose customer service is outstanding, along with Simone, and Luis. Federico gave us a lot of information about the village, and offered suggestions for dinner. He, and the entire staff truly care about their guests. The location is amazing-right next to ferry stop. It is a hotel with an amazing history-I am filled with gratitude to have found this gem of a beautiful hotel. Thank you to the entire staff for making us feel so welcome.

Excellent central location in lively lakefront strip of Desanzano, teeming with restaurants and bars. Ferry terminal on your doorstep for trips to Sirmione (worthwhile, but very busy in the summer). Despite busy location, our room (not lake facing) was pretty quiet (barring a guest in a room next door that insisted on making loud phone calls at 5am!). While there was no parking at the hotel itself, the hotel has access to a safe covered car park for a reasonable fee - they will also conveniently drive you to the car park to drop off and collect your car (its around 500m away, so you could also walk). Great continental breakfast selection. Bed was a bit firm and not the most comfortable (2 single beds together rather than a true queen), but room otherwise had all we required (standard city "view" with no view - window shuttered throughout our stay - was very hot though and had no desire to let sun in).

Staff was very helpful in anything you asked them. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station with no issues. Breakfast was very good as well. The hotel is 200 years old, and you can tell in some areas, but for the most part the rooms were plenty for us for a couple of days. Will stay there again.

The spa facilities were very nice. I wasn’t aware there was a charge to use the facilities. That’s ok, but guests can’t get access to spa and until 3:00 in afternoon and must book it for 3 hours. I like morning soaks or at least at my convenience, not the hotel’s.

Fabulous balcony overlooking lake

The balcony overlooking the lake was the highlight of the stay. The room was a little tired and the outside of the building in desperate need of some maintenance but could look at that view all day.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay. We had a corner room with a large balcony with table, chairs and parasol. The room looked over the marina and out towards the lake as well as the square. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They provided a driver to take us to the station on departure. Our room was large and traditionally decorated. It felt a little tired but was perfectly comfortable. Due to the location of the hotel overlooking bars and restaurants, the room was noisy on our second night as a rock band were playing outdoors. Not the hotels fault but something to be aware of. We did not use the spa so cannot comment. Breakfast was very good. The ferry to Sirmione and other places was available right outside the hotel.

Hotel hat eine tolle Lage, mitten in der Stadt und direkt am See. Die Zimmer sind sauber und renoviert, absolut schalldichte Fenster. Die Fassade ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber man hat den Eindruck, dass nach und nach alles renoviert wird. Der Wellnessbereich ist sehr schön und die Yoga Stunde war sehr gut. Frühstück Buffet war ebenfalls bestens.

Loved the friendly staff, breakfast and location. And the bathroom with the tub and bubbles were a very welcome relief after travelling.
