I have stayed at the Emerald Grande for the last 15 years, at least once a year sometimes twice. I absolutely love the location, convenience, staff. I always have a wonderful time. This time started out rough for myself and my family. My daughter who is a teenager went into the bunk bed room to find black hairs all over the blankets. It was so much that I believe it had to be an animal. We always get groceries before we check in. I love my coffee and wine on vacation. I found this unit had no Keurig, and no wine opener. One of the many luxuries of Emerald Grande is that you don’t have to drive anywhere if you don’t want to, and I never do. Especially with the traffic that you find in Destin. But I found myself heading out to buy a wine opener. This is the one unit I was very disappointed with. The pull out bed was dirty (which is what I was going to put my daughter on because of the bunk bed room dirty sheets. So I found myself doing laundry until midnight because the compact dryer took forever. I did call Vacasa who said they would send someone out, but did not contact me until the next day and she needed somewhere to sleep. The queen size room volume didn’t’ work on the TV. I just felt like too many issues for the amount I paid. The area is beautiful, I always love the Emerald Grande and normally book through VRBO. For future, I will be calling Emerald Grande directly.

We enjoyed our stay, View was great!! Kitchen could have been better stocked. But went and bought what we needed so all was good. When we arrived the HVAC was leaking into the hallway Condensation line was stopped up. Called the support line in my reservation summary and it was fixed promptly within a couple of hours we were good to go!! Beds were comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Same price as resort charges, without all the resort amenities.
When checking in, we were told, they did not have our reservation in their system. I made phone calls, after learning the owner advertises the condo through vrbo, but uses a company called Vacassa to be the property management. The front desk at this resort told us Vacassa does this often, not putting people into the Reservation system. We were told they operate out of the state of Oregon. What? How can they manage a property that way? I made several calls to Vacassa, after 3 hours of sitting , almost in tears, in the lobby with my family, until we were finally given the keys and ok to use the unit.
