Hiyama District accommodation from NZ$97

A little away from town center and train station but street cars go to property. Hotel nice and beds good but the bathroom is small and hard to use. Great price for in suite room with kitchenette and balcony. The breakfast are excellent and well priced to select that option

The location is brilliant - right across from the JR station and parking right next door (¥700 per night self parking so unlimited entry/exit). Very good for local restaurants, the morning market and close to tram stop to visit other attractions in the local area. The room was clean and comfortable, with a smart TV installed. The pillows weren’t great for us but not too bad. We had breakfast at the buffet each day and it was fresh and tasty. Loved them having local Hakodate yoghurt and milk products. That was a lovely touch! My only downside of the whole experience was at check in the staff were busy so the attentions wasn’t there. I went to approach the desk after waiting in line and was rudely told to wait for a self check in station instead. It didn’t worry me to use one - however it was a little confusing as it only allowed me to scan 2 passports out of our 4 guests so then I wasn’t able to ask questions about the breakfast vouchers and additional charges it insisted I pay for. Just would have been nice to have the staff be there for that to make the experience smoother. The breakfast staff were always lovely!
