Mizingani Seafront Hotel is an atmospheric, character-filled heritage hotel in a wonderful Stone Town location. It is not a modern, polished resort-style property, and that is really part of its appeal. The charm is in the old-world Zanzibar feel: the carved timber, arched balconies, tiled details, sea views, inner courtyard and slightly labyrinthine layout of rooms, staircases and quiet corners. The property has a real sense of place. You feel the history of Stone Town around you, while still being close to the waterfront, Forodhani Gardens, the ferry area and the main sights. The courtyard pool area is especially lovely — almost hidden away from the busy seafront — and gives the hotel a calm, intimate feel.
