The Occidental Dresden is in a great location. Only a short walk from the main train station and surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants. The Christmas markets and old city are also close by. Rooms at the hotel are on the small side but the bathroom was functional and a good size. The biggest issue we had was the poor quality of the pillows. They were awful, no support whatsoever. Breakfast was very good.

I checked in at 2 PM. The employee told me I couldn't get into my room until 3 PM. That's not customer service at all. I asked why I couldn't get in right away. She said the room wasn't ready yet. Then she said I could get into the room now for 30 euros plus city tax. So she was lying, because either the room is ready or it isn't. If I can get in for money, then it's ready. The room smelled terribly of cleaning products. We had to change rooms. That went very smoothly with a different colleague.

The room was modern and spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I felt very safe here. Close to the train station and shopping, walkable to historic sites, this restaurant was perfect and I'd definitely stay again if i return to Dresden.

We arrived quite late at night and left the next day, so we didn’t have the chance to fully enjoy all the hotel’s amenities. However, the location is excellent — very central and convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep. I also really appreciated the hotel’s eco-friendly concept and sustainable practices.
