What a gem of a place, ideal location, gorgeous views, super comfortable room and really friendly staff. One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. It’s so nice to stay somewhere with so much character, if you’re going to Durham, stay here.

Absolutely loved our stay at 40 Winks, the room was so beautiful with a gorgeous view of the Cathedral. It felt romantic, relaxing and special. Only a 5-10 minute walk to get to the main attractions and lots of food options. Lovely place, kind and welcoming host. Clean and well kept, and peefect for what we needed, which was to be within close walking distance of the cit centre and colleges. Grateful for the loan of an umbrella as it rained heavily while we were there!
