With up to two well-behaved dogs permitted on the property (with a fee), there is finally a waterfront retreat on Edisto that gives your group the seclusion, the space, and the scenery without leaving anyone behind at home. Wide open decks, deep tidal water, and acres of untouched coastline nearby make this one of the finest places on the island to bring a dog who loves the outdoors as much as you do.
On land, Botany Bay Plantation Wildlife Management Area is a short drive from the front door, making Whitmarsh a legitimate basecamp for birders, photographers, kayakers, and anyone who would rather spend the day exploring a pristine ACE Basin shoreline than fighting beach traffic.

Inside, the interiors are bright, spacious, and built for a group that came to gather. The kitchen is stocked with ample appliances, and the full-house reverse osmosis system means the water coming out of every tap is clean, filtered, and noticeably good. Multiple wraparound decks let different members of your group decompress at their own pace, all with those sweeping tidal views as the backdrop. When the day winds down, Wi-Fi and TV service are there for the nights you want them. Movie nights, the big game, or just a good excuse to stay in your pajamas.

And for those moments when the group is ready to venture out, Edisto Beach's shops, restaurants, and golf course are just five miles away, close enough for a dinner run or a morning tee time, far enough that you'll never feel like you're in the middle of it.
