Comfortable Stay, But Early Check-In Fee Was Disap

★★★★ I had a comfortable stay at the Radisson West Edmonton. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the free parking and the smooth check-in and check-out process. One detail I really liked was that the front desk staff didn’t announce my room number out loud when handing me the key — a small but thoughtful touch for privacy. However, I was disappointed to be told there would be a $35 charge for early check-in, even though rooms were available. I understand policies vary, but having worked in hotels across two countries, I’ve never seen this fee applied when a room is ready. It felt unnecessary and not very guest-friendly. I didn’t use the pool (no hot tub) or the fitness centre, and I wasn’t informed where it was — though I didn’t ask. I also didn’t use the Wi-Fi, and breakfast wasn’t included, which was a bit of a downside. That said, the on-site restaurant was good, and the staff there were friendly. Overall, it was a solid stay with a few areas for improvement.

Tried to call 4 times on my drive there to request an early check in, they never answered the phone. When I got to the hotel and asked about it they said they would call when my room was ready and never did. Staff was not very helpful. The elevator was disgusting as were the hallways. The room was decent however everything else about the place definitely made a negative impact

The only issue was the confusion during check in. There was no organization to it. Another women pushed in to the desk area before I was finished checking in. None of the staff advised her that I was still in the process of checking in. I did express check out and have yet to receive a copy via email. 6 hrs after check out

My room smelled like smoke. When checking in there was an overpowering smell of marijuana. My bathroom sink was not clean, black spots all Over. The tub did not drain when showering and the bathroom smelled like urine. Numerous people sitting on the curb outside the hotel in varying conditions. Would not recommend!
