I arrived around 6 pm and reception was closed with just a digital screen to pay and get the key. Despite specifying a non smoking room in my booking I was given a room that smelled of smoke. I couldn’t stay in the room with the bad smell. There was no one to contact as the reception was unstaffed. I did not have an e-sim with phone service to call the hotel. What a stressful (and expensive) experience having to find a new place to stay in the evening by myself, carrying my bags as I had returned my bike, and tired from a big ride. I received no apology from the hotel, and they declined to refund the booking. The owner will say she came later to the hotel and was going to offer me a different, better room … why didn’t she care enough to assign a non-smoker to the right room in the first place so I didn’t have to be a disgruntled guest. It was too late. I had already paid elsewhere to secure their last room at 7 pm. So I didn’t have a good experience. This place is more like an impersonal boarding house than a hotel in my opinion.
