In all my years of staying at hotels, I have never had the staff write me a passive-aggressive note...until now.
I must have gotten some makeup on the pillowcase while taking a pre-dinner nap upon arrival. Because upon coming back from a hike the next day, there was a note in Spanish that basically read "Did you know: washing your face before bed is better for the health of your skin and our sheets!"
Seriously? I'm being shamed for having rested for a few minutes pre-dinner w/o washing off what little makeup I had on after traveling just so I could put it back on for dinner?
It wasn't enough that the place has multiple dogs that bark like crazy whenever guests arrive - even if it's at 2am. But then I get that note. So my friend goes to the owner to kindly discuss how inappropriate this was, and the owner ADMITS that he encourages the staff to leave notes about things the guests can do better to protect his hotel. Seriously?? I'm not in a rock band throwing a rager, I got a small stain on a pillow that I'm sure is going to come out w/ bleach.
Furthermore, my friend said the owner would apologize to me directly, which he did not. Hence me leaving this review. Dear Felipe, the notes from your staff need to stop. No one on a romantic weekend at your hotel is doing anything so irreverent that they need to change. You can't leave a welcome note saying "Estas en tu casa" then shame guests for acting like they're in their house. Unacceptable.
