From 2 to 10 people, enjoy our villa in the village El Ghazoua, 8 km from the medina of Essaouira. By car, Dar Do is ideally located 10 minutes from the medina and the beach, 10 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the beach of Sidi Kaouki and 5 minutes from one of the largest golf courses in Morocco.

We restored this authentic Berber house, taking care of every detail of its decoration while respecting the Moroccan tradition. The garden, the layout of each room, the pool (10m x 5m), contribute to the feeling of calm and well-being ideal for a delightful holiday.

Dar Do is a large house of 350 m2 on a plot of 1000 m2. It has 8 rooms including 5 bedrooms (each with closet and wardrobe); a bright and well equipped kitchen extended by a dining room with a fireplace; 3 bathrooms in tadelakt; a Moroccan double living room with fireplace; a large shaded terrace for meals; two interior open patios, one with fountain and Moroccan living room.
And before each House of rest areas are furnished to comfortably enjoy true tranquility.

Everything is organized to make the most of the temperate weather of Essaouira. The magnificent swimming pool and its sheltered terrace with deckchairs, armchairs and parasols, the hammock, the barbecue for grills, the garden and its paths, allow to live outside enjoying the beneficial shade of the beautiful trees.

Access to the pool is safe for very young children.

You can, if you wish, enjoy a stove and a full time housekeeper, only order breakfast with the flavors of Morocco, you delivered the delicious tagines and couscous prepared by Samira, who is also expert henna tattoos.

Said her husband, is our steward, and you can rest entirely on him for all matters relating to daily life in the house and stay. Saïd is also an excellent guide to discover Essaouira and its surroundings such as the Berber souk of Ida-Ougourt, Cape Sim, beach pebbles blue Sidi Kaouki and the beautiful medina of Essaouira.

Lovely winter break

We all really enjoyed our winter break in Dar Do. The property had a traditional Moroccan feel, inc the decor, rooms off the courtyard and plenty of space if you wanted to have some alone time. Said was perfect and was immediately available if we needed anything. We'd also recommend his wife's tagine, which was delicious. All in all would definitely recommend.

Fabulous Villa

Dar Do is a lovely place to stay. We visited as a family of three adults and three children (8,10,13) staying for 14 days and there was plenty of room for us all. All the rooms are clean and spacious, the kitchen is well equipped and the sitting room has a large TV with USB ports for your own downloaded films. The garden is lovely, complete with tortoises - we counted nine but they were well hidden at times! We all loved the superb pool and the shady sun beds. Communication with the hosts via email was very quick and easy. Communication with Said was tricky, due to our terrible French, but he BBQ'd for us and we managed to order and eat his wife's delicious tagines (chicken as well as vegetarian option). It would be useful to have a car, as recommended, as there is not much in the immediate area, but found we could easily order an inexpensive large taxi via Said to ferry us to the Carrefour supermarket, the town and the beaches. (Driver Abdul was helpful and spoke a little English). As it was peak-season August, the beaches and Medina were very crowded with Moroccan families. Having been to the Beldi Country Club in Marrakech a number of times, we had lunch in Villa Beldi, which was just down the road and a welcome oasis from the heat of the Medina .. and it was certainly hot, 42 degrees at one point, dropping little at night - even the wind was hot. All in all, a fabulous holiday and we hope to return one day.

My family and I had a fantastic holiday at Dar Do

After a few days in the sweltering heat of Marrakech, Dar Do provided a very welcome escape. We all loved the house, it was very spacious and had plenty of space for our party of 6. Everything we needed for our 10-day stay was provided and Said was on hand to help with any requests we had. The swimming pool was fantastic! I would thoroughly recommend it.

Amazing house- private and tranquil oasis

My partner and I visited Villa Dar Do the other week after a week of driving around Morocco taking in the various and amazing sights and endless landscapes. After continuous days of driving and adventure, Villa Dar Do was a much welcomed oasis of peace and rest. As there were only 2 of us, the space was more than adequate, but this would be perfect for a large group or family, and there are lots of various outdoor terraces and courtyards where you can get your privacy even with large numbers. I think this is the most beautifully decorated home we have visited on holiday (we have used Home Away/Owners Direct lots of times before), and it's clear this is a home rather than a holiday place. You might not spend much time indoors in Morocco, but so much care and love has been taken in the house, both inside and out, and it really was a lovely place to stay- a real home. The house is very well equipped, clean and comfortable- w/ modern TV with HDMI (a bonus for movie night), perculator and juicer aswell (Tip: oranges are cheap and grow in abundance, so take advantage of making your own fresh orange juice!) We spent most of our time in the garden, which is so well kept, and to my delight, resident tortoises! Said, the housekeeper, took such good care of use while we were there, showing us where the house is (down an easily accessible track, but easy to find), and also inviting us to see various local souks and checking everything was ok throughout our stay. If we needed anything it was good to know he was there. It was quite difficult to communicate for us, mainly because our French is terrible (sorry!) so some basic phrases would be useful for you throughout your trip to Morocco. We loved the house so much, we spent most of our time there by the pool, with the tortoises, eating our BBQs, but we made a day trip to Essaouira (10 mins drive away and great if you Kite Surf)- also lovely, and less intense than Marrakech. Would have like to spent a little longer there, as it was great for shopping. There is also, if needed, a Carrefour there, so you can buy your wine, beer and home comforts. The only tiny tiny negative thing I would say, and very very minor, is that the meeting point is quite vague for a tourist, and found a better meeting point at a petrol station (to be guided to the house)- big bold letters, much easier to see. Saying that, we never got lost and our stay was perfect! Thankyou so much for having us at your beautiful home! Jodie & James

Wonderful Stay

Prior to booking the owners were extremely responsive and flexible when we had to change our dates. They were also eager to help us set things up such as airport transfer, car rental upon our arrival and offering a baby bed. Once we were on site, we received a warm welcome from Saïd and Samira Who are amazing through our entire stay. Samira cooked the most delicious meals and was flexible when we had specific requests and then the days that we didn’t give any direction was eager to make something new. Saïd helped organise everything and anything that we requested whether it was a quick run to the grocery store or henna tattoos - he was always eager to help with a smile. The garden and pool is stunning and the house very comfortable. The only note that I would make is the layout is perhaps not the best for a family with young children as rooms are a bit far from each other so younger families may not be as comfortable with the layout. For friends, multiple couples or families with older children I highly recommend!!!

Des vacances idéal a Dar Do !

Nous avons passé une semaine paradisiaque à Essaouira dans le Riad Dar Do. La cuisine de Samira, les bons conseils et la disponibilité de Saïd ainsi que leur gentillesse sont le gros plus de nos vacances. De plus, l emplacement de la maison est idéal pour découvrir le coin. La piscine et le jardin joliment décorés et arborés donnent aussi envie de rester à la maison et de profiter de l endroit avec possibilité de massages et tatouages au henné à domicile. Enfin les différents patios permettent aux gros groupes d avoir des espaces distincts pour chaque famille. Nous conservons l adresse et reviendrons avec plaisir. Dépaysement total

La maison est très bien située, à 15 minutes seulement du port D’ Essaouira. Toutes les commodités sont accessibles à 10 minutes ou moins de voiture(carrefour, épicerie chez Mouloud ou encore petit restos). La maison est magnifique, très bien entretenue et bien décorée. On y est coupé du monde, tout y est vous avez juste à déposer vos valises. Le coin extérieur et la piscine est la grosse cerise sur le gâteau. La maison est bien agencé, nous étions 8 et chacun avait son intimité. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir. L’accueil et la disponibilité de Said et Samira ne font qu’ajouter du plus à ce séjour, et les petits déjeuner concoctés par Samira un délice.

Jour de l'An sous le soleil d'Essaouira, dans la superbe villa DAR DO

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour dans la très confortable villa DAR DO, à l'occasion des fêtes de fin d'année 2023. Saïd et Samira, qui nous a fait ses bons petits plats chaque jour, ont été aux petits soins. La disponibilité et la réactivité de Ghislaine et Bernard, ainsi que leurs bons conseils, que cela soit avant ou après notre réservation, ont facilité l'organisation de notre séjour. La villa est décorée avec soin, très propre et au calme, avec différents "coins" et patios où tous peuvent se retrouver ou s'isoler s'ils le souhaitent. Enfin, nous avons pu facilement - avec une voiture, rayonner dans cette très belle région marocaine sous un soleil de fin décembre très apprécié !

Einfach wunderbar!

Dieses Haus in der Nähe von Essaouira ist - unserer Meinung nach - kaum zu toppen. Einfach wunderbar! Gepflegt, sauber, luxuriös und v.a. liebvoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Hier steckt viel Herzblut drin. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern war sehr freundlich, promt und verlässlich. Vor Ort kümmerte sicher Said, der Housekeeper, wirklich rührend um uns. Er schaute jeden Tag vorbei und war uns überall behilflich, wie z.B. Autoanmietung oder diverse Zusatzaktivitäten. Gerne nahmen wir auch die ausgezeichneteten Kochkünste (Abendessen oder auch Frühstück) der "Hausköchin" Samira in Anspruch (gegen kl. Aufpreis). Wirklich sehr lecker (marokkansich oder auf Wunsch auch international) und stets auch etwas für Kinder dabei. Französischkenntnisse sind allerdings von Vorteil. Die Kinder haben den riesigen - wenn auch frischen - Pool sehr genossen und schlossen beste Freundschaft mit den 10 Schildkröten. Essaouira ist mit dem Auto ca. 10 - 15 min entfernt und ein hübsches marokkansiches Städtchen. Ebenso ca. 10 - 15 min entfernt ein schöner Strand, welcher im August noch recht voll war, sich ab anfang September, sobald die marokkanischen Kinder wieder Schule hatten, wunderbar leerte. Die örtl. Temperaturen waren bei uns im August um die 25 Grad - also etwas frischer (und auch windiger als im südlicheren Agadir) - dafür gab es tolle Wellen. Alles in allem durften wir eine wunderbare Woche im Anschluss an unsere Rundreise erleben! Durchaus weiterzuempfehlen!

Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse dans un havre de beauté et de paix. Rien n'aurait été pareil sans la présence merveilleuse de Saïd et Samira. La cuisine exceptionnelle de Samira est un immanquable, il ne faut surtout pas s'en priver. Séjour très agréable dans une belle maison au calme

Nous avons passé de très bons moments au calme à Dar Do malgré la puissance du vent (due au climat de la région). Belle maison bien équipée convenait à tout le monde enfants et grands. Très jolis piscine et jardin. Plages, ville, médina et activités (quad, cheval) à proximité de la maison à environ 15min en voiture. Supermarché et pharmacie à environ 7-10min de la maison. Very nice family holiday house

We had great time, Said and Samira are very nice people and great help when ever we needed it, at any time. Niet house with nice Poolse, water was only little bit too cold;-) for us.

Le bonheur à portée de main...

Très jolie maison décorée avec goût. Confortable, fonctionelle avec un jardin bien arboré et une belle piscine pour le bonheur de tous. Voiture nécessaire car accès à la propriété par une piste de 1,5 km. Endroit très calme et reposant, idéal pour se ressourcer et passer du temps en famille.. ou entre amis. Nous y reviendrons avec un très grand plaisir

Un séjour inoubliable

Nous avons passé une semaine à Dar Do en juin 2021 avec nos parents et nos enfants. Tout le monde a été conquis par la beauté des lieux. Villa très spacieuse et bien agencée, avec des espaces séparés, ce qui permettait à chacun de profiter du calme et de s’isoler si besoin. Située dans un village très calme. La piscine est magnifique et le jardin est un havre de paix avec ses nombreuses tortues qui viennent vous saluer le matin. Les couchers du soleil qu’on a pu contempler depuis les terrasses des toits viennent parfaire le tout. Le contact avec Ghyslaine était très agréable. Tous les détails du séjour et des environnements sont bien expliqués. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Saïd, qui a su se rendre disponible pour la moindre question, tout en restant très discret. Propreté irréprochable. Très bien située entre Essaouira et la plage de Sidi Kaouiki. Les commerces indispensables sont à 10min en voiture. Et des petites épiceries du village pour dépanner sont à proximité. Nous recommandons chaleureusement cette demeure. Nous y retournerons sont hésiter la prochaine fois. Merci

Inoubliable

Nous avons été conquis par Dar Do, la maison est en tout point conforme aux photos qui nous avaient déjà charmé. Sérénité et harmonie se dégagent de toutes les pièces, patios et jardins. Ce que nous n'avions pas vu, c'est la gentillesse de Saïd, qui se met en quatre pour satisfaire toutes nos envies et questions, et les talents culinaires de Hadidja. Ce sont de vrais atouts complémentaires pour Dar Do. Nous avons été agréablement surpris par la météo à Essaouira à cette période de l'année ( 23 à 25C l'après midi), la fraicheur des soirées étant plus que compensée par les flambées que nous préparait Saïd. Ajoutons à cela le très bon emplacement de Dar Do, à 10 mn d'Essaouira et à 15 mn de Sidi Kaouki, la proximité de tous commerces à Ghazoua ( supermarché, pharmacie...). Tout a contribué à faire de ce séjour très réussi une semaine inoubliable en famille pour Noël.

Maison douce, chaleureuse, bien agencée pour vivre ensemble mais aussi trouver de l'intimité

Une belle maison, joliment décorée qui dégage une atmosphère très douce. Chacun peut trouver son espace pour se détendre ou s'amuser. C'est un lieu idéal pour venir à plusieurs, en famille, entre amis. Said est en accord avec ce que dégage la maison, toujours souriant, serviable, discret, une belle personne, et les tajines de Samira ainsi que ses tatouages au Henné sont des merveilles. Une maison à recommander pour qui veut aller au rythme des 11 tortues du jardin (les gourmandes....). Essaouira est à portée de pistes, on est vite familier des lieux et des endroits où faire ses emplettes. Merci à Said aussi pour ses bons conseils pour les achats et visites.
