The Good:It's a decent older style cottage. Quiet, pet friendly, easy to find, and plenty of space if you have a large crew I counted seven beds. There is also an abundance of kitchen ware so cooking for a group would not be difficult. The Bad:The floors, counter tops, tables, and windows obviously hadn't been swept or washed as there were dead flies every where. There was a vacuum so we were able to suck up the flies off the furniture and other mentioned surfaces. The flatware, serving spoon, and spatula were likewise dirty having bits of dried food still stuck to them. Once again not a big deal, we just made sure to wash everything before using it.Extra Notes:We booked our trip in the middle/end of September. What we didn't realize is this is right in bear hunting season and the property was also being used to hunt bears. This made being out during twilight and night hours a little bit more challenging when taking the dog out to potty. We had coyotes in the area one night, and bear in the area the next. This place is in the middle of the woods in the U.P. so this isn't a suprise just something if you're planning on staying here to be mindful of. The road is a sandy gravel and it rained a fair amount while there. This made the road kind of a soupy mess and driving it could be problematic if you have a vehicle that tends to slide or get stuck easy. All in all it was a pleasant stay and the host is laid back and very easy communicate with. I would stay here again.
